A few miles my ass. I woke up sore and tired and all of my muscles ached. I winced at the pain of trying to get out of bed and I slowly stood up. Wonderful. It's my first day of work and I'm sore. I looked at the clock and it read, 5:43 am. I groaned and got myself ready. I picked out some semi-casual clothes and went to my make-up next. Once that was done, I put up my hair into a neat bun. The reason why I call it a neat bun, is because my brown curly hair isn't neat at all. So it starts out neat but once the day goes on It comes undone to a messy bun. It's like the best of both worlds. I went downstairs and poured myself some coffee. I could feel the hot liquid running down my throat and it instantly woke me up completely. Ah the magic of coffee. I didn't start drinking it until my freshman year of college, and until then I really missed out. Finally I looked at the clock and it was 6:42am. I grabbed my bag and left, taking my moms car. I got to RCA and went in. Since I was about 20 minutes early I decided it would be ok to look around the lobby for a bit. I looked at the painting on the wall, one that I particularly liked that had a man and a woman reaching towards the sun. The sun had a face on it, almost like gods. I looked over at the other walls and realized how many famous people have recorded here. Now, I love music and I can't live a day without it, but it kills me that I'm in a recording studio and not recording music. I just couldn't after what happened in Junior year of high school. I looked at my watch again, 7:25am. I decided I should check in and stuff so I went to the front desk to see the lady typing away.
"Hey where do you go to check in?" I asked.
"Oh Abi! You scared me!" She said putting her hand on her chest, and breathing heavily.
"Sorry!" I said quickly.
"It's ok now Dave asked me to send you to Studio 3. "
"Um ok. Where is that?" I asked.
"This ones easy. Just take a left then a right then your first right then left." She said looking like its a piece of cake.
"Ok...thanks." I said sarcastically. I walked down the hall and I saw a guy walking towards me.
"Hey...do you know where Studio 3 is?" I asked.
"Oh yeah! I'm going there right now." He chuckled, "This place can be super confusing sometimes." God I really hope I don't look too lost. He lead me down the all just a bit and it turns out I passed it. I made a mental note in my head at where it is. We both walked in and I saw Dave.
"Well Abi seems you've met Nash." He said.
"Yeah. He kinda showed me how to get to Studio 3." I explained myself.
"No worries." He stated, "Now Abi, this is Jamie, and Ian..and Ryan is well off to get coffee." He introduced me and I shook their hands. We started a little bit of conversation until the boys got directions from Dave. They worked on their song Downtown Girl which was absolutely amazing. They were so talented. They finished and almost as if queue, the same gorgeous brown haired brown eyes guy walked in. I almost chocked.
"Oh Abi. This is Ryan!" Dave said.
"Oh we met, we bumped in the hall yesterday." He said with a large smile as he laughed. I returned the smile and laughed as well.
"Well Ryan, all we need is your vocals...and well we are done!" Ryan gave Dave the thumbs up and headed into the recording booth. I sat down next to Dave who was showing me how to work the recording booth. We took about 5 minutes and then he said, "Okay Ryan, I'm gonna start the track in 3,2," and Dave silently said the one. I looked at Ryan while he sang his song and I couldn't help but smile. His voice made my insides melt, and I'm sure I look like a complete fangirl. But I'm pretty positive he's use it it. I checked my watch and looked at the time, 4:30pm. Damn. That went by fast. Nash, Ian, and Jamie must have taken forever!
Ryan had finally finished and came out of the booth. I walked up to him and said, "That was amazing! Your really good!"
"Thank you Abi!" He patted my shoulder.
"Well Abi I think your done here! Thank you! See you tomorrow!" Dave motioned me towards the door. I got outside and just smiled.
