He stood rigid but instead of feeling the impact, he heard a thud and a gasp. Nate’s eyes sprung open, and he looked down to see Michael collapsed on the floor, with the knife sticking out of his chest. It turned out that while sprinting passed the fort, Nate didn't notice him crawling out to see what the commotion was. Michael eyes focused in on Nate's shocked face. “Go,” he croaked, with blood beginning to drip from his mouth. “I’ll try to slow her down.” Nate saw that park girl went and grabbed another knife, and with a final glance at his friend, he ran out and slammed the door. Nate took off down the street, not knowing where to go. He couldn’t go to his neighbors, he didn’t know how long it would take park girl to catch up to him, and he knew there was a chance she would catch him by the time anyone opened their door at two in the morning. With no good options left, he decided to hide at the park. There’s no way she would think to look for him there. And with that thought, he sprinted off. Off to where it all began.
