Night finally fell as Nate reached his front door. “Yeah mom, I’ve been doing all my chores and been staying caught up with everything else on the list.” he said into his phone. “Okay, I’ll see you guys in a few days. Bye”. The rest of Nate’s family had gone on a week trip to Disneyland, but Nate decided to stay behind. “Man, I really wish I had gone now.” Nate said to himself. Oh well, at least its all over now. But he couldn’t help but feel as if something was off. He thought it must be his imagination, until he realized it was far too cold when the heater was on. As he thought what might be wrong, he looked around and saw what the problem was. There right by the kitchen was billowing curtains, caused by an open window that he had been sure was closed before. Heart racing, Nate ran forward and grabbed a knife off the counter. He jumped as he heard shuffling feet behind him, and he swung around knife raised. “Woah there bro! No need to kill us over a little surprise sleepover!” a voice said. Nates jaw dropped and the knife fell from his grasp and clattered on the floor. There in front of him were Keiko and Michael.
