Flags, half risen,
Tears in our eyes
News about you being gone.
Bagpipes are playing in the back ground,
You can hear the cadence of boots
hitting the ground.
You were too young,
Now covered with our national flag;
We have to lay you to rest.
People wearing black with a touch of a poppy.
We bow our heads in silence,
Remembering you.
Your death was a tragedy,
Yet it was not in vain.
From this day on,
We all will know you as;
Corporal Nathan Cirillo,
Canada’s son and hero til’ the end.
