She sits in her car at the end of the day
With a heart like lead
Full of things she doesn't know how to say
And she thinks of reasons to end it all:
The stress she won't have to feel,
The ways she won't have to measure up,
The criticism she won't have to hear,
The burdens her parents won't have to bare,
And neither will she.But wait.
What about the way her parents will grieve
And ask why
And blame themselves
For not protecting their little girl?
What about her sister,
The way she'll grow up more quickly
On a different road,
Alone?
What about her boyfriend,
The immeasurable pain she won't be there to comfort,
The tears she won't be there to dry,
The way he'd do anything to make her smile one more time
Because maybe it would've kept her alive?
What about her God
Who loves her more than anything
And put her here for a reason? So through the tears she gets out of her car
And finds the will to keep living,
Keep trying,
Keep Breathing.
