Cross Pov:

Today is supposed to be the first day of high school but, me and my parents couldn't pay for school for this year. So I stay at our house until we can pay the admission. When I woke up it was 9:00 a.m., so I stayed in bed and played some video games.
Then I heard my mom calling for me, "Cross?! Could you come down here for a second?"
"Ok mom!" I got out of bed and headed downstairs. When I got downstairs, I see mom holding mail in her hands with a worried look on her face.
"What's wrong mom?" I asked my mother. She looked up at me.
"Well honey, I don't know how to say this. We have to move away." Wait WHAT?! M-move away?! From my friends and town. Mom handed me a letter that said we hand to move away because we couldn't pay anymore bills. I was sad that we hand to move, but I understand the reasons.

Time skip: 1 month

Today was moving day. After painting the whole house and fixing the pipes we sell the house and it got sold right away. I said goodbye to my friends, and got hugs from them. I mean, we can still text each other, but it won't be the same.
"Sweetie, hurry up. Time for a long drive." My dad shouted from the van. When he said that, it didn't help my homesickness. I got in the car and waved my friends goodbye. And when we got on the road, I put my headphones on and blasted my music on. Still wondering how it came to be this.
After a full 20 hours of driving on the road, we arrived at our new house. It was the same size of our old one. I walked in to see stairs right when you walked in, a living room in the middle of the room, and some extra rooms that haven't been filled with stuff yet.
"Cross, your room is on the second floor on the right." My mom yelled from outside. I walked up the stairs and see different rooms from the hallway. I walked in my new room to see a faded orange wallpaper and places where things used to be. I quickly painted my room light gray and streaks of red and after it dried, I put my stuff where I wanted it to be. I had some time to kill so I decided to walk around my new town.
"Hey Mom! Dad! I'm going to explore the town!"
Good idea Cross! Be back by sunset!" My dad yelled back. I got on a gray sweater with a hoodie and walked out the door.

??? Pov:

I was visiting the town and see moving trucks at my old house. Then I see a skeleton about my age walk out of the house and head towards the town. This boy had a grat sweater on and had music in one of his skull. I decided to follow him, he couldn't see me nor hear me, for now.

Cross Pov:

As I walked into town, I see schools, restaurants, libraries, and other things that small towns had. Honestly, this place seemed boring. Two guys stopped in front of me and wouldn't let me pass.
"Hey? Can I get pass ya?" I asked them. They looked a little older than me, only by one year.
"Sorry but we can't let you do that."  The one on the left of me said.
All I could say was, "And why not?" They both snickered at each other before answering me.
"Because" Then they both held me up by the neck of my sweater. "You haven't got your treatment." I closed my eyes ready to feel pain, but I heard footsteps coming behind them. I opened my eyes but couldn't see anyone. All of a sudden, the one on the left got hit in the bad spot and fell to the ground. Me and the guy on the right saw him drop to the ground, but still no one around.
"Guess I have to punish you myself." Then something hit him on the head, like someone hitting him on the head with a hammer. Then they got up, ran, while screaming, "I-it's the curse of the town" I was on the ground gasping for air wondering what is this curse of the town? And what helped me? While I was thinking to myself, I hear someone calling out to me.
"Hey! Are you ok?" I got out of my thinking space to see a skeleton with a blue scarf tied around his neck and blue starry eyes. He ran up to me and stuck his hand out for me.
"Here, let's go to my mom's workplace. She can help you." He helped me get up and we walked to his mom's place of work.
"O-oh!? I forgot to introduce myself. My name is the Magnificent Sans...or just call me Blueberry." We talked to each other until we got to his mom's work. We walked in and see that it was a salon with different shops in it.
"Hey mom!" Blueberry yelled for his mom. She came out of her store that was a mini nurses office. Then she realized the injures.
"Little one, what happened to you? Let me go get medicine for you." Then she went back to her store. We were quiet until we heard an unfamiliar voice called out, "Hey Blueberry!" We turned around to see two more skeletons approaching us with big smiles across their faces.
"Oh hey Ink, Dream. This is Cross, I bumped into him on the streets with these boo boos." Then he showed them my "Boo boos".
"Blueberry. I can heal myself you know." Then an x went across my scraps and in seconds they were gone.
"Wow?! No one can do that here!" Dream spoke out. Then Blueberry's mom came out with pills.
"Ok honey. Wait....you're already healed? Well, I guess your the special types of monsters that can heal themselves. We use to have one that could do that." Out of the corner of my eye, I see Dream and Ink frown.
"Uh, mom? Could we not talk about this now?" She stared at him and finally said, "O-oh sorry sweeties. I'll go back to work." I looked at them and still wonder what is this town's curse?
"Hey guys. Do any of you know about this "town's curse" people keep talking about?" They all shot up looks at me and looked at each other.
"Yeah, we know about them. Why don't we see the library here. My mom could help us on what we need to know about it. Do you know anything about it yet?" While we walked to Dream's mothers library, I told them about the strange guys that got beat up by no one we could see.
"Wow?! You only been here for less than a day and you got to meet the chosen spirits?!" Blueberry said with amazement.
"What choosen spirits? What are you talking about?" I asked them when we got into the mini library. Then Dream went to the counter and asked his mom for a book she was holding right now. He came back with a dusty old book.
"This is the book of Spirits that still are around here in this town." He turned the pages and he read them aloud for the rest of us to hear.
"In 201X, 20 kids got killed by an unknown person and left the dust on top of a meadow on a hill. People thought that the kids would rest in peace, but the kids made things strange happen to this little town. They normally go into the afterlife. But only 2 of them stick around to wait till someone comes to help them. So they both wait till the time has come."

Dream closed the book and looked around for our reaction.
"Do any of you know one of spirits." Dream, Ink, and Blueberry slowly nodded their heads.
"They were supposed to be in our grade this year, but you know. We knew all of them, they were our friends. And Dream and Ink had family in that accident." Dream and Ink had depressed looks on their faces and looked at me nodding.
"But, you may be the one they are looking for." Wait ...ME!? Why would 2 spirits wait for me. I just moved here.
"That could explain why those bullies didn't hurt you Cross." Ink said. While Ink and Blueberry was convincing me that I may be the one that they are looking for, Dream was looking through the book for any clues.
Then Dream got our attention, " Hey guys. It's has more. The spirits have not moved for years. No one knows what they are planning to do. People started to build a shrine that worships the 2 spirits, but no reaction has been made throughout the area. People had hired some psychic investigators and they haven't found anything. The shrine is located in the middle of the meadow on a hill where only the moon and sun can see it. The chosen one from the spirits, will have a team that will help the chosen monster throughout life." They looked at each other than at me.
"We should go to the shrine at night to see what it has for us." Ink says with pride.
"Wait, WHAT?! You're telling me, that we are going up to a shrine, in the middle of the night, where the moon is showing and see the two spirits in front of US?!" I yelled the last word out and got hushed by multiple people. We all finally agreed to do this and meet up at the gates where the meadow starts.
As I was walking home, I wondered 'What did I get myself into?'
