"Did you guys hear about what happened yesterday?" Christine excitedly yelled out as Noah and I walked into class.
"No what happened?" Noah questioned.
"An enforcer for the McGregor family was arrested yesterday." Christine's eyes lit up more. "The shop keeper, that called the police, said two heroes that go by the name Phantom and Excalibur, directly lead to the arrest. Do you know what that means?" She's practically jumping up and down. "Well do you?"
"Yes, some heroes are finally taking it to the McGregor family!" Noah started acting like Christine.
"Did you know he way part of the McGregor family?" Ashley pulled me into the hallway.
"No, but that tattoo, I thought it was just some gang tattoo, it was definitely the McGregor family seal."
"Shit!" Ashley puta her hands on her head. "What are we going to do, the McGregor's have there hands in so many heroes back pockets it's not even funny."
"Relax, no one knows it was you and I..."
"The guy also said one of the heroes mad some kind of armor around his fist using his own blood." Christine said.
"Okay, so no knows it was you."
"What are we going to do? If it was some gang after us I could handle them, but not the McGregor family."
"Would you get it together Ashley, nobody outside of this class even knows I'm able to control my blood, let alone shape it into weapons. So I'm sure we're fine."
Ashley and I walk back into the class, Christine and Noah stare at us. "It was you two." Noah states.
"What... what are you talking about, don't be so weird man." Ashley sits in her desk, and puts in earbuds pretending not to notice them.
"Ashley their not even plugged into anything." Christine holds up the end of the earbud cable. "What were you two thinking?"
"Why would you pick a fight with the McGregor family?" Noah questioned. "Are you both idiots."
"We didn't know he was McGregor, we only knew he was robbing a store." I take my seat. "besides, I don't see the big problem her, only us four know we did it, plus it's about time Someone finally stood up to the McGregor's."
"They've ran this city for years, don't you two remember what happened to the other the heroes that tried to stand up to them?" Noah sounded worried.
"They left and went to King City?" Ashley questioned.
"No, they were killed!" Noah shouted.
"Who was killed?" Ms. Hulsey asked.
"Um..." Noah quickly spun around and looked at her. "No one, I was just telling (y/n) and Ashley a joke."
"Yeah It wasn't a good one." Ashley rolled her eyes.
Ms. Hulsey laughed a little. "Alright, well take your seat class is about to begin, I think you'll all like todays lesson." She makes her way back to her desk, and Noah turns back towards Ashley and I.
"Look guys, just be careful." Noah and Christine sit down in their seats.
"I hate to admit it, but I think the nerd is right, we should be more careful now."
"The McGregor family is going to be gunning for whoever took down their family member, and we're the unfortunate ones that did it." I place my hand on my forehead. "Could today get any worse?"
"Now that you said that, it's going to happen."
"Alright class." Ms. Hulsey gained the entire classes attention. "Today, we will be having combat training with Mr. Young, and the other Ms. Hulsey." She smiled as the other two teachers walked into the class.
"What's up guys!" Mr. Young waved.
"I'm going to cut to the chase." Jenna Hulsey said interrupting Mr. Young. "I'm not like my older, you won't refer to me as Ms. Hulsey, you will call me Solar. You got that?" The entire class nods. "Alright good, today, you will all be paired in teams of two..."
"Aren't we already paired off into teams off two?" Titan interrupts, and a vein practically bursts in Solars forehead.
"Yes but..." It was obvious she was trying her best to hold back her anger. "In the field sometimes you have to form unlikely duos, with hero's normally you'd never work with. You understand?" Her eye twitched a little.
"Y-yes ma'am."
"Good now sit down, and listen." She took a small breath. "You will be paired in teams of two. These teams will be the opposite of the teams your in now, instead of being with someone that complements your powers or personality, you'll be paired with someone that contrasts you."
"And each of these teams will have a small battle simulation done between them." Mr. Young adds.
"We've posted the team lists outside on the wall. Meet us in the gymnasium in ten minutes." Solar and Mr. Young leave the room.
"She was kind of intense." Christine said as Noah and Her made their way towards Ashley and I.
"So who do you think you'll be paired with (y/n)?"
"Probably you, two people couldn't get anymore different." Ashley said answering for me.
"Guess that's true, well how about you Ashley?"
"Knowing my luck, I'll probably get stuck with that snobby bitch, Courtney."
"Why don't we stop playing the guessing game, and actually go look at the list." I stand up and the other three follow me.
"What? I'm paired with the nerd!" Ashley shouts.
"Calm down Ashley it's not that bad, it's Just Noah, it could've been a lot worse. You could've been like Christine and got paired with that creep Leon."
"True." Ashley kind of perked up. "Well Who did you get paired with?"
"That would be me." Ashley's facial expression grew cold, at the sound of the voice. Her eyes fixated one the blue haired, blue eyed girl, as she stood next to me.
Ashley growled. "Jessie Johnson."
