(Akira's POV)
Hikaru didn't come to the school the next day. I went to the teacher's office to turn in his sick letter.
His condition didn't get any better this morning.
He didn't talk and just eating his breakfast quietly and went to the study room.
He chose to work than going to school. Big sis noticed his odd behavior so she let him be for now.
Hikaru nodded thankfully for her understanding. I looked at Hikaru with undescribed feeling.
'I'm his brother, I wish I can help him somehow. I hope he will open his heart to me.' That was what I wished this morning.
I went inside the classroom and heading toward Yukino and others.
As they started talking. I accidentally heard the girls in my class gossiping not so far behind me.
"Did you hear? Another girl went missing!" All of them were murmuring 'scary' or 'oh no'. The girl with long hair continued, "
Guess what, how many times this happens in our school? It's the second time!
Last month, it was Kira from class 2-5, and last week was our kouhai[1] Rena from class 1-6!
"Did their parents reported to the police?" A girl with short hair asked curiously.
"Un! They are still searching for them, it turns out not only from our school. The others too! Didn't you see the news this morning? From Sakura High School, three girls and Tsuki High School, two girls!"
"So, it's related!"
They gasped and couldn't help to feel afraid inside. I frowned when I heard that.
What has really happened in their neighboorhood lately?
They continued their gossip from the abducted case to their idol group. I snorted, 'Girls.'
As I trying to get back focusing on Yukino's story once more, I heard his funny story.
He got chased by cats this morning!--Yes, it wasn't a dog-- It happened because he mistook catnip alcohol as a perfume.
He cursed his sister for messing around with the bottle in their house! I chuckled and told him he was just unlucky today.
The bell school rang and the students took their original seat once again.
Our homeroom teacher came into the class and gave a short announcement.
He said, "Alright, stop talking and don't comment first. Listen to what I have to say. For girls, the school warned you to never leave the school ground alone without someone accompanying. They advised you all to go home right away with your driver or together with your friends. Don't wander outside alone until the situation redeem. Is that clear?"
"Yes, Sensei!" The girls answered. He continued, "No exception for boys too, is that clear?"
The boys were whooping. "Eh~? Sensei! Why us too?" Yukino asked.
"I said, no exception. This is our school policy, it's for your safety after all. That's it. Now open your book on page 180. Kudo-kun, read the sentence and answer it."
"Y-Yes!" I was startled from my name being called.
I stood up right away and answered the question.
...
After class, I excuse myself from Yukino and the others.
I was holding my stomach when the class starting. It was painful and my face turned to red.
