CALIDA
"Girl, you ain't know Ta'Keya had a stillborn last month?" Passion asked, walking back into the livingroom of her house. "She had gave birth to a little girl."As much as I wanted to roll my eyes at the mention of her name, I didn't. I actually and genuinely felt bad for her loss, but then again, karma had a way of getting those that least expected it. Besides, she was being delusional to the DNA test of Michael not being the father as proven months ago. So imagine how our lives would have been because she wants to 'believe' the baby is his. All in all, I'd never wished bad on her regardless of the fact I despised her. No woman should have to go through that, especially with their first child.
"Wow, that's crazy. How you know 'bout it?"
She took a seat on the sofa and reached over to the table for her phone. After unlocking it, she searched through it thoroughly until she handed it to me and my eyes fell upon Ta'Keya's Instagram profile and looked over a picture of her in the hospital and holding her deceased baby girl in her arms with tears in her eyes. At that, my own eyes watered because I could only imagine how she felt during that time. I can see the pain in her face so clearly. I really felt bad for her.
"Despite all the drama she had caused in the past, I cannot help but have sympathy for her."
I continued looking at the picture and nodded. "Yeah, me too. I was thinking that moments ago when you brought it up."
"I mean, she's still human and from the looks of this photo, her emotions goes to show how she was happy to become a mother before that shit happened."
I looked at the picture a little longer before giving Passion her phone back, while shaking my head. "It's fucked up," I end up saying, "I hope and pray my baby be good when I give birth to it."
I looked down at my almost three month protruding belly, rubbing it gently. Time was passing by so quickly because I was damned near done with my first trimester. I was rather glad since I had to deal with all the earlier symptoms of pregnancy such as throwing up every organ in my body. Those days were coming to an end, and I could not wait. Michael has been very comforting during the process and always there at every beck and call I made. After our last doctor visit, in two more months we will know the gender and I was ecstatic because I was so anxious to know what we were having. Until then, I had to be patient and let time run it's course. One thing we do know for sure, is our baby is set to be due on May 31, 2019; a few days after my birthday on the twenty-third.
Since the news been out of the pregnancy due to Michael's birthday bash at Da Trap, all of everyone who owned a social media account knows about it and spread the news. We were congratulated by tons of people and as much as I wish I could thank them all personally, Michael and I created a short video to thank everyone as a whole. Also, Michael had finally met my mother Deborah last month. I wasn't nervous about them two meeting at all 'cause I knew she'd like him and I was right. As a matter of fact, she loved him. The two of them got along so well over dinner and it was as if they've known each other all this time.
Of course, we did tell her the news of the baby and if I stand correctly, it practically gave her high blood pressure. She was so excited to know she will be a grandmother. We didn't have to tell his family being that some of siblings witnessed the whole reveal at the club so news got out to his parents through them, but Adina and Reggie Facetime'd us to send their personal congratulations. Everyone was in the know of this, so it was no secret anymore that I kept for almost a month.
