You got me thinking (You, you) Of you for you
Got me telling my mama (You) And my friends all about you
In my daydreams are you, Touching, holding, kissing (You, you)
As I'm sweaty with, came right on time

YEAR 2018, February 20
CALIDA
It's been about a year now since I've moved back to good ol' Gary, Indiana. After graduation in 2012, I had a full ride scholarship to Alabama State University to major in psychology then I went to a technical college for cosmetology to become a nail tech. Don't get me wrong, being a psychiatrist was the goal for me years ago, but my passion was with doing nails. Sometimes, you have to go with what your heart desires and I did just that.Even though I changed my career route, my mom was still very much proud of me that I did something with my life unlike my brother who didn't and ended up losing his life to gang violence back in Crenshaw. God knows I missed his aggravating ass so much. He was my only brother, my only friend I had. His death was one of the main reasons why we moved up north those years ago. Sometimes I wish we hadn't 'cause I had to deal with mothafuckas like Michael Jackson.
Since I've moved back, I haven't seen him around the area. What I have heard on the streets is that he is a big time videographer/director and has been doing videos for a few local rappers and big time rappers and singers. That was very good. As for Fredrick and Darius, I just know Fredrick sales dope and owns a club and Darius went off to college and now owns a clothing line here in downtown. At least all three were doing something legally constructive with their lives.
I was working as a nail tech in the most exclusive nail salon on Central Avenue. I had to apply to the best of the best and after seeing my portfolio, Passion, who owned Passion's Nails Salon and became my best friend, gave me a spot to work along side her. She was laidback and the coolest female I have ever met besides the ones I met in college. I'm not gonna stunt, I really thought she was gonna be a stuck up ass bitch, but she proved me so wrong the more we hung out together and she became my only best friend in the world. She was all I needed.
Pulling up into the parking lot of the nail salon in my all black Audi A7, finding a spot to park, I kill the engine to my car, and gather my purse and phone from the passenger seat and make an exit. Locking the doors to my car, I walk up to the salon, pulling the door open and making my way inside to be met by my fellow coworkers, boss and some clients who were all waiting in the spacious waiting area. I make my way to my respective station, setting my things down in the drawer I had located beside my chair.
"Okay, bitch, I see how you pullin' up na!" I hear Passion say to me from across the room. I turn to her where she was sorting out the nail polish on the shelf, wearing a smirk on her face.
I playfully roll my eyes at her and said, "Girl, shut the fuck up."
"I'm just sayin', ma. You ova here stuntin' on us poor people."
"Whateva," I laugh, setting up my equipment for the day, "you the one driving a damn Tesla, so I'm more poorer than yo' ass."
She shoots me a look and grin, "You right. You right," she finishes up her task then make her way over to me behind my station, leaning her hip against the wall, "but, I was wonderin' later on tonight, if you wanted to hit up Da Trap. It's 'pose to be poppin' and ladies get in free before eleven. What ya say, Cali?"
Oh, Da Trap.
The hottest new club in Gary not too far from here on Central. This will be my first time ever going since it's grand opening a couple weeks ago and I've heard some good reviews about it, but I was too busy tryin' to make this bread to worry about clubbin'. Passion ended up goin' with her boyfriend Marshun and I just kicked it at home with some Netflix and chill...alone. Nah, my life wasn't boring whatsoever, I just ain't care too much for clubs. People just ain't know how to act right. Niggas got to shootin' and hoodrat bitches got to fighting like lil' pussies. I just couldn't deal. But, since my girl obviously wanted to have a girls night out, I was all for it tonight.
