"You and Evelyn are to be partners for this project." Evelyn groaned and the girl crossed her arms. "What if I don't want to?" She asked scornfully. Mr. Bell smiled. "Then you can both fail this class." He smiled again as if he had solved everyone's problems. Before the girls could say anything more he walked away. She glared at Evelyn. "My names Vanessa."
Evelyn gasped. "Wait...YOUR Vanessa Lang!?"
Now:
Vanessa rolled her eyes, "Obviously." Evelyn brushed her rude remark off and kept going, "I can't believe it!" Vanessa's frown deepened. "I mean," Evelyn continued with a mean look in her eye,"I am talking to our one and only local vandal?" Vanessa sighed, "I spray painted one wall of the school's utility shed during my freshman year," she looked back up at Evelyn glaring, "could you please be mature enough to drop it?" Evelyn turned and started off toward their assigned table, "Depends on how much of a bitch you are to me today." Vanessa rolled her eyes and followed Evelyn to the table. After the bell rang, releasing students to lunch, Evelyn stood leaning against her locker waiting for Ashley. That girl. She takes eight years to walk from one class to another. Evelyn smiled to herself and stood up and started walking to where she thought her friend would be. She walked to the end of the hallway, and just before she turned to go down the staircase, Evelyn heard Ashley's laugh. "God I swear! She seriously think everything is a contest! She comes crying to me every time someone hurts her little ego, and it is so annoying. The girl needs to get her head out of her ass and grow up." Another voice spoke up, "Seriously though, Evelyn thinks she's this perfect princess of High school, this isn't TV sweetheart!" The two voices laughed again and then she saw them. Her eyes sort of blurred and then focused on one face. Her best friend since elementary. Her rock. The one person she thought she could tell everything to. "Ashley.." her voice broke, she didn't mean for it to but her emotions were swirling. "Evelyn! Oh..didn't see you there.." She wanted to throw up. Her throat tightened and her eyes burned. Don't you dare cry. You need to make sure you look strong. Evelyn's lip curled into an evil smirk and she leaned in with her eyes narrowing, "Let me just see what your mother thinks of your little...midnight adventures..with Ezra." Ashley's dark face turned pale. "Evelyn..come on..stop it I was, I was just messing around." Evelyn smiled and then walked around her "best friend". Ashley's mother was as strict as they get. Even with Ashley being a sophomore, she was NOT allowed a boyfriend. Especially one that gets you pregnant. Evelyn closed her eyes tightly as she stopped walking and leaned against the railing of the empty stairs. This is the lowest I've felt in a long time...her mom will find out in a few months anyway. There's no reason for me to say anything. Evelyn stood again and made her way out the doors and into some fresh air. She refused to admit to herself that she didn't want to be the reason someone she had cared so much about to get in trouble. It has been...awhile...my bad..it's literally been a year but like 🖐😗 no time like the present
