Five Years Later

It's been five years since Jay and Cole, Lloyd and Kai moved out.

They all got their own places.

Now I'm left with Zane.

I don't mind him, we help each other.

But today I got a call from Kai.

It was an invitation to a get-together.

from KAI.

I think Lloyd planned it and is just too shy to say 'hey come get drunk with me'.

"Hey Zane, we have to be there in two hours, remember that."

I tell him, as he packs up a platter of cookies to take over.

"Thank you for the update, I needed that."

He says as he puts the platter by the front door.

"Nya, I suggest you wear something not real showy, but loose. It's the perfect temperature outside for a breeze shirt."

He says.

I'll wear my breezey shirt then.

We leave for Kai and Lloyds place.

When we get there, the door is open and there's a sweet, yet strong smell coming from it.

I know what at it is.

Lavender Essential Oils.

Lloyd loves them.

"Hey guys, Jay and Cole have a surprise. They'll be here soon."

I look up to see Lloyd in beige shorts, and a bright green loose shirt.

He waves us in and walks into the door.

"Babe, Nya and Zane are here!"

He yells.

I see Kai ran into the room and fall flat in his face.

He gets up quickly and hugs me.

"Hey sis!"

He let's go.

"How's life treat'in ya'?

"As normal as can be."

I reply.

We all wait, and talk, and wait, and talk some more.

I hear a voice outside the door.

"Ava, let me brush your hair."

I run to the door and swish it open to see Jay, Cole, a woman, and a little girl.
