(Virgil's Point of View)
(Flashback)I woke up in pain, obviously still feeling the cuts, burns, and bruises my parents inflicted upon me the night before. "Ah, God..." I said, getting out of my bed and going to the closet to get dressed.
As I slipped on my hoodie over my t-shirt, I saw a glimpse of my very damaged body. I sighed, wishing things were different. "Virgil! Get down here now!!!" My mother screamed. "C-coming, mother!" I yelled in response, tying my shoelaces.
I walked down the stairs, knowing that my mother or father was going to make up an excuse to slap me or something.
"Hello mother, father..." I said walking up to them. "You pathetic loser. You think it will impress us that you talk all formal, but it doesn't!" She yelled, slapping me.
I took the slap without even falling over. This is the stuff my parents do. They want me to 'be all formal', but when I am, they yell at me for it, and when I'm not, they yell at me for it. There is legit no winning with them. And besides, I wasn't even being that formal.
"Go do your chores!" My father yelled, shoving me. "Yes, sir.." I whispered, walking away. My chores are basically just doing every job in the house, like cleaning the bathroom, living room, kitchen, balcony, bedrooms, ect. So, basically the whole mansion.
I started with the living room because 'if guests come over, that is the first room they will see'. As I was cleaning the living room, picking up and putting away books, dishes, toys, purses, ect, I saw myself in the mirror, well, my hands and my freckled face. 'Wait...' I thought, 'freckles?! Oh no... I forgot to put my white-ish, tan-ish foundation on! Ugh! God, mom and dad are gonna kill me! But, if I stop cleaning I will be in more trouble, so I'll... just keep cleaning.' I decided.
'Okay,' I thought, with an audible sigh, 'now to the kitchen..' I walked into the kitchen and saw a complete disaster.
''Dear God!" I mumbled, "What the h*** kind of experiment with food and dishes was one of my family members attempting to do?! Jesus! Good thing I brought my phone and headphones." I said, putting on my headphones and playing a Dear Evan Hansen song, called Hiding in Your Hands.
I picked up all the dishes sprawled out all over the kitchen, humming to the song. Before I knew it, the kitchen was spotless, "Perfect" I sighed.
After a few hours of cleaning the whole house was perfectly clean. " Finally." I mumbled, walking away, trying to find one of my parents to see what they want me to do next.
Apparently, neither of them want me to do anything, so I decided to check the mail.
I walked outside, and saw my older sisters chilling on chairs, watching the world. My sister Lauren hates me, like my parents do, so she doesn't feel sympathy for me, at all. She's an obnoxious, spoiled brat, and could care less, if I dropped dead right in front of her.
My sister Luna, (not the one from my other fan fiction) on the other hand, is the exact opposite. She really cares about me, and hates that everyone else in the family doesn't. She thinks that I did nothing to deserve this treatment, and she is correct. She is a loving , caring person, who tries her hardest to motivate me, and keep me going. Luna is the only reason that I haven't jumped off a building or something yet.
I never want anything bad to happen to her. If she does somehow die before I am out of my other family members clutches, I would try to keep going, but knowing me... it probably wouldn't last long.
As I walked past my sisters, Luna gave me a sympathetic smile, and Lauren glared at me in disgust. Although, it didn't matter if they smiled or glared at me, because I smiled at both of them.
I looked in the mailbox and saw three letters, addressed to: Elizabeth Hansen, Aristole Hansen, and Lauren Hansen: mother, father, and one of my sisters.
I closed the mailbox, and walked up to Lauren. "S-sorry to bother you Lauren, b-but you have m-mail.." I stuttered, showing her the mail.
"Ugh, when will you stop stuttering?!" She responded, snatching her piece of mail out of my hand, "Well go away now, whatever your name is!"
"I-it's Virgil..." I whispered, walking away.
After I went into my parents room to put their mail on their mail thingy, I had nothing to do, so I decided to draw. I love to draw, and I can do it realistically, and anime style.
Since it is always so hard for me to decide which style to draw in, I put two little pieces of paper in a little jar, pull one out, and see which one I draw out of the jar.
Today I got the realistic one, and I decided to draw something/someone that/who motivates me everyday. So, I drew my sister Luna.
First, I drew the proportions. Then, I drew the volumes and shapes. Next, I drew the tonal values. And finally, I added the detailing and contrast.
When I was finished I drew it again, except I drew the four steps of how to draw her realistically.
Then, mother called us down for dinner, "Dinner, children!" She yelled.
