Cole's POV

After a restless night, I throw on some shorts walking to our indoor gym.

I shouldn't have let Lili go back to that house, I know how much she hates it. Yet I let her walk away, again.

I jog for a few minutes trying to understand what the hell was wrong with me.

"Hey Cole, I'm going to the mall. If Lili stops by tell her I'm not here," Cami says making me snap out of my thoughts.

"Yeah sure," I mumble.

She leaves letting me work off my grief.

I feel awful for what I did. She was vulnerable and I left her.

I grab my phone and keys quickly driving to her place. I bang on her door until she opens it.

"Cole?" She crosses her arms. "What do you want."

"You. Me. Date."

"Uh, yeah no," she laughs. "Go home."

She was about to close the door so I quickly put my foot in the way.

"I want to make up for the other day. Please," I beg.

She stares at me for a while before muttering a yes. She lets me in while she runs upstairs to get dressed.

After a while she comes down in the skirt and a shirt. I bite the inside of my cheek just thinking of that skirt.

"Ready?" I stand up.

"Mhm," she mumbles grabbing her purse.

We hop in, I drive her to a fancy restaurant. I run to the other side opening her door.

"Thanks," she looks at me weirdly.

We walk into the restaurant, chandeliers are everywhere. Candles and the smell of delicious food are wafting towards us.

Someone quickly shows us our seats.

For the first few minutes it was an awkward silence.

"Look, I'm sorry about... Well, everything." I sigh. "I was being such an-"

"Asshole? I know," she smiles. "It's fine, I forgive you."

The waiter comes around with his notepad ready.

"What can I get you guys?"

"I'll have the Risotto," Lili smiles.

"And you sir?"

"I'll have the same as the lady," I smile handing him our menus.

He quickly writes down out orders walking away.

"Nice skirt," I wink.

She blushes looking down.

"I thought you'd like it," she smiles.

"I like it, very much."

We stare at each other for a while, until the waiter brings us our waters.

She quickly drinks half of it before looking back down at her hands.

"Thank you for bringing me here, it's a very sweet gesture," she doesn't look up.

"I'm happy you think so," I take a sip of my water. "Anyways, it's not much-"

"It's not much! This place is expensive!" She yell whispers catching the attention of a few people. "It means a lot, Cole."

She puts her hand on my hand.

"Here you guys go," the waiter says in the middle of our moment.

She moves her hand as the waiter places our plates in front of us.

"Will that be it for now?" The waiter eyes Lili which irritates me.

She's half your age, asshole.

"Yes," I clench my jaw.

He looks at me before scampering away.

For the rest of the nice the waiter doesn't interrupt us and we eat in a comfortable silence.
