As requested by . Sorry it took so long, (and it is SOOOOO pitifully short) but enjoy! (SOOOO short 😭I didn't even have the heart to proofread it)

Kaldur wiped away the blood that was trickling from the corner of his mouth. Being kidnapped by his father was apparently not a fun experience. Who knew? Well, other than maybe Artemis.

His father was trying to convince him to switch sides- god, what a pain in the butt. How oblivious was he? That obviously wasn't going to happen. And despite what his father seemed to think, torturing him wasn't going to work. Kaldur would much sooner die than work with the Light. And his deadbeat father seemed to be realizing that.

His stomach hurt from where he'd gotten stabbed. Well, duh, a stab wound hurt. His eyes gazed around the cell. Someone would eventually show up to help him, he knew it. He just had to stay strong til then.

He flinched as his father entered the room again.

"You willing to listen to reason?" Black Manta growled.

"Reason, yes. Absurdity, no." That earned him a slash in his cheek.

"You are the one being absurd. I will make you switch sides." He brought a whip down on Kaldur's shoulder.

"Didn't Sportsmaster try this same thing with Artemis? How well did that turn out?"

The whip hit him again. "Don't be rude to me, boy. I-" Suddenly, He collapsed.

Arthur (A/N I was gonna type King Arthur, but then my brain immediately went to "and the knights of the round table" so I didn't) shook out his fist and smirked. "Well, that was easier than expected." He reached out a hand to help Kaldur up.

Kaldur gratefully accepted it, stumbling to his feet. "Thank you." Eight years ago he would have added "my king" but he was beyond that now.

Two hours later, he was sitting on a bed while Wynnde patched him up. "You weren't paying enough attention, huh, Kal?" He asked calmly.

"No. I should have been."

"Yes, you should have. Now, I think that it is time that we head to dinner. The king and queen are waiting for us. Besides, I do not think that the prince will feel very patient about waiting to eat his supper."

Kaldur cracked a smile. It was true; Jackson was not very patient.

"You has a bad day, huh?" Mera asked as they ate.

"I suppose that you could say that."

"Well, it's over now, is it not?"

"It is." Kaldur said, nodding.

Wynnde bent over, giving Kaldur a quick kiss. Kaldur was more than happy to settle into it. They stayed like that for a few seconds before Jackson looked up from his food and yelled "Kissing! GROSS!"
