After a long week of unpacking and getting settled at my new house, I decided I would head downtown and go look for a little coffee shop or something.  I went downstairs and got in my car. We only lived 10 minutes from downtown so it wasn't a long drive. When I got there I parked in the community parking lot and began walking. The town was absolutely beautiful.  There were lots of little shops and restaurants.  Soon enough I found a little coffee shop called "the hideout ". It seemed like a small place that not too many people went to and it looked like the perfect place to study. I walked in and I automatically felt an amazing vibe from the place.  It was so perfect. There were comfy chairs and little led lights everywhere.  But the amazing vibe I felt was quickly ruined when my clumsy self ran into someone. The person I ran into had a coffee and it got all over me. Luckily I didn't care for this shirt anyway and I had an extra shirt in my car.
"Oh I'm so sorry" the guy said. I looked up to respond and saw a tall boy with hair that had been dyed blonde and beautiful blue eyes that I could get lost in. Before I looked like an idiot just standing there, I quickly responded "oh no it was my fault,  I'm new here and I was just amazed at how beautiful this place was." He gave me a slightly confused look and said " you're new here?" "Yeah". I replied.  "Wow we almost never get new people here. Just a fair warning, you will more than likely get bombarded with people talking to you when you go to school.  But if you need anything I'm Daniel Seavey " he said. I was about to respond when a group of boys walked into the coffee shop and came up to Daniel.  "There you are, come on we gotta go, coach wants us. There is someone new trying out for the team later today ". And with that they all left. I couldn't help but wonder if Daniel and the boys were on the hockey team considering I was trying out for the hockey team today. Well, if they were on the team, they sure had a surprise coming their way.
About an hour after my encounter with the boys, I pulled up to the ice rink. The guys probably wouldn't be the most welcoming to me considering I'm a girl and everyone thinks that if a girl is on the ice it should be for figure skating.  But today I'm going to prove that I am just as good, if not better, than boys at playing hockey.  I walked into the building and went into the girl's locker room. I pulled on my old Jersey, my gear, and skates. Then, I put my hair up and put my helmet on . I walked out of the locker room and went over to the ice, where the coach was in the middle of the rink and the boys were doing drills around the rink. I stood there studying their form. They were good but too sloppy.  They were clearly making up their own game plans and trying to make it work. It wasn't the smartest idea. These boys weren't a team. They were individual friend groups who weren't able to work together.  With me on this team, I could improve how this team works and plays. I could tell there was a lot of tension between all of the guys.  One boy was completely open and the boy with the puck knew this, but he never passed it even though he needed to. This team needs some serious work. Luckily that's what I was here for.
Suddenly the coach looked over at me and signaled me to come out to the ice. I began skating toward him as he blew his whistle telling the boys to come over to us. 19 boys lined up in a straight line in front of me and the coach. "As you boys know we have a new member of the team today." The coach said gesturing to me. "Everyone meet Jordan". One of the boys looked at me and said "Sup dude". I think he was one of the boys who came to get Daniel at the coffee shop. All of the boys must have thought I was a guy, which made sense considering my hair was hidden and they couldn't clearly see my face. I took off my helmet and commented "sup".
