The Rekindle of a Lost Love

Back to the present, Harry was still waiting for Louis. During the time after the band went on their break, Harry really spent the time to find himself. He dated some women and even some men and understood who he was. He also learned that the only person that ever gave him a feeling inside of him that he still didn't understand was Louis. Sure, they met up together a couple times for a few one-night flings over the years or just visited each other, but deep inside Harry knew it meant more to him. Harry and Louis even made some sort of code during those visits. On this exact day, Harry would be 25, and Louis would be 28. It was why the two numbers were so special to the the boys. Every once and a while, to show that they were thinking of the other, they would do something relating to the numbers or the day that they made their promise to each other.

It was half an hour to midnight now, and Harry knew that Louis never promised he would show but Harry refused to give up hope. While discovering himself, he discovered that he wanted his Loubear back. He wanted his first real crush and first true love back. Everyday he regretted breaking up with Louis, but knew it was for the better. The pressure that was put on them would have completely destroyed what they had built up.

Ding dong.

Harry jumped up from his seat on the couch, all the blankets on him falling to the ground. He stared at the door. Did he imagine it?

Ding dong.

He ran to the door and quickly opened it. Outside was Louis, layered up in sweaters and jackets to keep warm from the cold. Their eyes met and they smiled at each other. None of them knew what to say. Finally Harry, realizing how cold Louis was from standing outside, cleared his throat and said, "Would you like to come inside?"

Louis nodded his head and stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He took off a few layers of clothing and hung them on a coat rack. Then he looked to Harry, who was just staring back. Both boys were known for their confidence, but at this moment had no words to say.

"Would you like to have a seat?" Harry said, "I could also get us some hot chocolate."

"That would be lovely, thank you." Louis said, taking a seat on the couch.

Harry returned with two mugs and handed one to Louis. They both took sips of the drink. "So," Harry began, "you came."

A soft smile came from Louis. "I know I never promised to come back, but I knew I had to come back to see you. So, how have you been?"

"Well, for starters, I missed you Louis."

A chuckle came from Louis, "Getting right to the point aren't you, love. Well, you've always been like that." His stare turned serious. "These past few years I've been hiding from myself. I just broke up with Eleanor, but I've kept her around for so long. I didn't want to admit to myself that I still loved you after everything between us."

"I still love you too," said Harry, "I know it's my fault we haven't been together for so long, but if you still want, I'd gladly come back with you. I could understand why you stayed with Eleanor, it's the same reason why I was with Camille."

"No, you were right offer a break. They put all of that on us when we were so young, and it would have ruined our love forever." Louis sighed, "I don't deserve you Harry. I know we weren't exclusive during our break, but I still got Brianna pregnant. Yet here you are, welcoming me back with open arms."

Harry reached over to grabbed Louis's hand. "Don't talk down on yourself life that, Freddie is your son and you are a wonderful father. Yeah he may not have been planned, but he will always be your kid. As for us, what we had was special. I know you came to me, but I was still waiting for you to except me back."

Louis couldn't take it anymore. He wrapped his arms around Harry. "I meant what I said all those years ago, Harry. You'll always be in my heart, no matter what happens."

A few tears fell from the eyes of both boys, but they were not tears of sadness or tears of goodbye. They were tears of happiness and hope for the future. Suddenly the two heard the T.V. despite all the emotions going through them.

5... 4...
Louis and Harry slightly pull apart.

They stare into each other's eyes.

Their eyes look down to each other's lips, both of them knew what the other was thinking.

1... Happy New Year!
The two share a passionate kiss. A kiss to seal the deal, a deal to try their best to rekindle the love between the two, a love that never really disappeared to begin with. When they finally pulled apart, it was a new year. It was a year to be truthful and honest about themselves and their relationship.
