Amethyst was bringing Red back to the temple... She wanted to help him, give him a place he can be free from his past... A new home he can call his own. And she sure as hell wasn't gonna let Pearl and Garnet ruin this guy's life anymore than it already has been
Amethyst: come on Red, Let's go
Red: thanks for letting me talk... If you could keep the arm thing private please?
Amethyst: sure dude... I get it you don't want people to worry about ya, makes sense now actually
Red walked through the sand and looked at the sunset... It was truly beautiful, the way the water reflected the colors. Red, yellow, pink, purple, orange... It was so pretty.
He thought of Coral, she would probably like this... He should go back and get her and show her this beautiful sight, she always loved colors
They arrived to the temple to see Garnet siting down, Rubbing her head while Pearl is frantically cleaning everything
Amethyst: you guys owe him an apology... Now
There was a long pause
Garnet:... I know, and I'm sorry for being bias Red, you need to understand-
Red: I know about your story, blue told me about a cross gem fuson that ran at the mention of Shattering the other... I know you don't really have any reason to trust me, I'm just asking for a chance...
Pearl stands up and looks at Red
Pearl: even if it goes against every feeling of logic in my gem... I'm willing to give you a chance Red. Coral and Pezzot told us everything you did to get here, all of it for Stevens sake...
Red rubbed the back of his head right as Steven came back with donuts
Steven: hey guys! Is everything cool between us now?
Garnet: yes Steven... Infact we where just about to give Red a room in the temple
Pearl: yes, we we're- wait what!
Amethyst: huh, neat... Steven did you get any sprinkled ones?
Steven: of course I got sprinkled ones, hey red wanna try one?
Steven holds the bag to Steven, he looks in it to see a couple of chocolate donuts, a strawberry sprinkle, and a white glazed. The one that stood out to him was the single long John in the bag. He grabs it and eats it
Red: that was... Really good actually, weird but enjoyable
Steven: don't worry, you'll get to try out a bunch of different things once you get settled in.
Pezzot leaps from her project into Reds backpack, discharging her extra energy into Reds gem. The bags under both there eyes disapate
Pezzot: sorry Red, I was getting to critical levels.
Red: it's fine, let's go get our rooms in the temple
Pearl: there is a slight problem however, we need Rose's gem to open new rooms in the temple. Steven will have to make his gem glow on command... He can barely summon roses shield so there is a 50/50 chance of this actually working
Steven scrunches his face up
Steven: heeyy, I can make her bubble, and I summoned her shield twice now... How hard can making my gem glow be?
Garnet: well if you're so confident, let's go
Garnet opened the temple door to the crystal heart. The power for and reason the temple exists.
Garnet went in first, followed by Red who held Pezzot in her bag, the Coral, Pearl, Amethyst, and finally Steven. Garnet positioned Steven on a circle in the ground, the had Red place his hand on him
Steven: Soo, what do I do?
Garnet: all you have to do is make your gem glow, then Red needs to make his gem glow. It will memorize his light and allow him his own space in the temple. He can then choose people to have the ability to get in his room.
Red: neat, let's do this thing already
Steven began to concentrate, he knew that he would be able to do it. He just had to find the right emotion to have to make his gem glow... According to the Gems it happened when his mother was happy, so he moved his mind to happy thoughts... Connie and Greg came to mind, they where the few bits of normal in his life
Steven: hehehaha...
The hybrid smiles a big goofy grin as his gem starts to glow, the wind around the boy starts to move under his feet as the crystal heart starts to groan a machine-like growl. Red glows his gem and he feels Stevens feelings, the crystal heart was connecting them... He felt the temple rumble as more room began to form. He saw the images of Connie and Greg, how did he know those names...was the temple connection more than feelings? He couldn't be sure but he had a hunch this wasn't a one way street as Steven stoped glowing with a frown
Pearl: d-did it work?
Amethyst: woah, guys check out the door!
The door did indeed change, it was the same star with the jewels on it, but in the middle was Red diamonds symbol, with a Red, Yellow, and Blue symbol on it.
Garnet: it worked... Good job Steven. You did really good
Pearl: yes Steven, good job!
Amethyst: you da man ste-man!
Steven: aww guys stop it!
Red ruffles the young kids hair and steps out of the room, along with the rest of them. He glows his gem and a new opening sequence happened... It started to crack and suddenly split unevenly in the middle, sliding open in a red light. Red walks in leaving Pezzot.
Pezzot: hey hey! Why are you leaving me!?!
Red: you gotta open the door, I'm not gonna do it for ya every time
The door slides close and the cracks heal themselves. Pezzot grumbles and taps her back, near her waist. It was where a navel gem would be if it wasn't for it being on her back, the door turns into hexagons and opens, showing a Waving Red diamond
Pezzot steps through and closes the door behind herself
Coral looks at the door and rubs the gem on the front of her neck, it glows and the door turns into crystals. It shattered in a mirror like way before reveling the two gems talking to each other... Coral steps through before the door closed to that room for a final time that night.
Pearl: Steven it's getting pretty late, off to bed young man
She claps her hands as the gems head off to there rooms, getting a good night's sleep
The next day, around 8 in the morning
Steven gets up to the sound of a snorting amethyst, she is laughing at Reds attempt to make coffee on his own
Red: but I did everything you said amethyst ... Put water in a pot, put the grounds up beans in and boil it!
Amethyst: not the entire tub of grounds genius *chuckle* and there are coffee makers, you don't just dump it into a cooking pot
Steven smiled, this was going to be an interesting experience... Pearl was still skeptical but she is trying to trust him now and Garnet has accepted that he isn't like the other diamonds. We have some new crystal gems now.
