Logan pov:

Poor Virgil. I feel bad that he has to be going through all of this.

As I watch him sink out I sigh and say "I believe I should go and check on him to make sure he is sleeping and not just working in his room."

The others nod in agreement and in one swift motion I sink out and reappear in the corridor outside my room but instead of entering my room as I usually would, I turn around and make my way to Virgil's door.

Reaching his room, my hunch was proven to be correct when I see that the swirls of his door were moving faster and the colours themselves had become ever so slightly dimmer.

Virgil was, as I suspected, receiving his animal trait.

I know this because; when Virgil, a former dark side, became one of us I was intrigued to know whether or not he had any other extreme differences to us other than him being able to seemingly appear out of thin air, so I began to research anything I could on dark sides which is how I came across the 'animal trait' situation.

Worrying about Virgil's safety, knowing that he was technically 17 at the time, I delved deeper and discovered how it is a long, painful week of one's body changing in such extreme ways that one may not even look human at the end of it.

Anyway, back to the task at hand.

Knocking on Virgil's door, I received no answer and then I heard soft whimpers coming from inside, so I carefully pushed open the unlocked door.

Quickly stepping inside Virgil's room, I saw that he had a string of fairy lights above his bed that were still on so, using the light from them, I tiptoed towards Virgil to see that his face was mildly pain stricken and he was squirming in his sleep. He must be having a nightmare.

I leaned down and gently shook him awake.

He awoke suddenly and sat up only to lay back down again, a pained groan escaping his lips.

He looked towards me and said in a sleepy voice, "Thanks for waking me up."

"It is okay Virgil." I said, the tiniest smile appearing on my face.

That smile dropped, however, when Virgil threw himself out of bed and to the bathroom that was attached to his room.

He then proceeded to vomit into the toilet so I rushed over and knelt down beside him.

"It's alright Virgil." I said calmly, holding his ludicrously long bangs out of his face.

When he was finished puking whatever was in his stomach he turned himself around and leant his back against the bath.

"Are you okay now?" I asked gently, so as to not startle him.

"Yeah, I guess I just caught a bug or something." He replied, getting up with some difficulty and making his way back to bed.

Getting up as well, I turned to face the back of his head and said "Virgil, you and I both know that this isn't just 'some bug'."

At this he froze and fell back to sit on his bed.

I walked over and sat next to him.

He then burries his face in his hands and groaned "So y-you know abo-about the..." He trailed off, looking at me with a fear stricken face.

I nodded, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Its okay if you do not wish for me to tell anyone, I only want to help you." I said in a calm, quiet tone, a gentle smile on my face.

He looked down with his hands in his laps , playing with the long sleeves of his hoodie.

"Thank you Logan." He mumbled, only just loud enough for me to hear.

"It's okay Virgil, as I said before, I only wish to help." I said quietly.

We sat there in comfortable silence for a good minute or so before the most unexpected thing happened.

Deceit, quickly followed by Remus, appeared. The two bumping into each other and falling to the floor.

Virgil and I starred gob-smacked at the two dark sides as they attempted to untangle from one another.

Remus, finally being free from the pile, leapt up and looked at Virgil, exasperation and concern very prominent on his face.

Deceit then stood up with a similar expression to Remus's and said "We came as soon as we could."
