Play the song above when Eddie does!!!

Richie POV

My skateboard bumps along the uneven pavement as I make my way to school. The weekend consisted of none of us wanting to be alone, so we took turns staying at each other's houses. Saturday I stayed with Ben and Bill at the Denbrough house, Beverly stayed at Eddie's because his mom knows he is gay and didn't mind and Mike and Stan stayed together. Last night I snuck out and went to Bill's again, only to find Eddie and Stan there too. None of us want to be alone, so we stay with each other as much as possible.

I spot the school and see Bill, Stan, and Eddie entering. I pick up my board and jog up to them. Eddie spots me and a smile lights up his face.

"Richie! I woke up this morning and you were gone! Where'd you go?" He asks, and I feel kinda bad for leaving without telling him.

"Sorry, Eds, but I figured me and your mother would have the whole house to ourselves if you know what I mean!"

Bill laughs, and Stan just rolls his eyes.

"That's just fucking disgusting, Chee," Eddie says.

"D' you hear about Betty Ripson?" Stan asks, face suddenly serious.

"No, why? What happened?" I ask. I vaguely remember her from history last year, but we never really talked.

"She's m- missing. My d- dad told us about it this m- morning."

"Do you think it was...?" I ask, not finishing my sentence in fear of someone hearing us.

"Maybe, I don't-"

"Hey, Eddie!" All four us turn to see a freshman girl jogging towards us. I've seen her around but I don't really talk to freshman. She has long brown hair and is wearing a soccer jersey.

"What you did for Bill's brother is really cool!" She says, shoving a newspaper in Eddie's hands before skipping away. Eddie unfurls it and reads the headline.

"Black Bear is Bested by a Boy With a Baseball Bat!" Eddie looks up at us, wide-eyed. He looks back down and reads part of the article to us.

"Seven-year-old Georgie Denbrough was viscously attacked by a black bear Friday evening. He lost his right arm but was left otherwise unscathed due to a valiant high schooler fighting the bear off with a baseball bat! This boy, Eddie Kaspbrak, has not yet spoken on the issue, but Georgie's father, Zack Denbrough has a very kind message for him!"

Underneath is a picture of Eddie smiling toothily and a quote from Mr. Denbrough, which Eddie reads.

"I do not know what would have happened if not for Eddie, but I know Georgie would probably not be here with us today. Eddie, you are the hero we never knew we needed, thank you!"

Eddie crumples up the newspaper and attempts to throw it into a nearby trashcan but misses by about two feet.

"Wow Spaghetti Head! You're a celebrity!" I say, putting my arm around him. He looks at the ground angrily.

"But it was Mike who saved Georgie, not me!" He whisper-yells. "And you saved Mike! So, why am I getting all the credit?"

"It's o- okay Eddie, I don't think M- Mike will care. H- he n- never really liked a- attention anyways."

Eddie stills huffs in frustration, lifting my arm from his shoulders and letting it drop to my side.

"I'm going to class." He mutters, walking away. Stan follows him since they have first period together. Bill and I head off to English.
