Agnes POV

I can't breathe. It feels like time just came to a screeching halt. My whole body goes stiff in shock. His lips are warm and soft against mine, and his hand is buried in my hair. He tastes like mint, and smells like whiskey and leather. He tightens his arm around my waist as I finally remember to kiss him back. He runs his tongue against my bottom lip, causing me to gasp. He slipped his tongue past my lips. I let out a squeak of surprise. I felt him smirk into the kiss. As we kiss, I feel as though my soul has caught on his, reluctant to be released. I finally pull away and open my eyes. His bright green eyes look back at mine with complete adoration.

"W-what was that?" I breathe out.

He smirks and kisses my nose."Something I couldn't help."

I try to process this. Killian kissed me. Like on the lips. Why would he do that? You only do that to people you like. Does he like me? Better question, is he drunk?

"Are you drunk?" He smiles that childish, genuine smile of his that tells me just how drunk he is.

I exhale deeply, trying to hold back my tears. "Hey, what's wrong angel? Are you hurt? Are you sick?" He runs a hand over my face as he begins to panic.

"N-no I'm fine," I tell him as I turn away from him in bed. "Just go to bed Killian."

For a few moments the only sound in the room is of our breathing. All of my confessions dispersing with my exhale. After maybe ten seconds, I hear him lie down. I let tears roll silently down my face. Of course he doesn't like me. He has people like Dahlia. Not only is she gorgeous, but she's a good person too. It's not that I think I'm ugly. I don't. It's just it can be hard to see someone you love with someone else.I stare up at the moon, and just hope and pray to myself that he'll leave me alone tomorrow.

Killian POV

I wake up to the sun shining on my face, a cold spot in bed next to me. I squint my eyes and climb out of bed. I get dressed, and pull on my boots. My head feels like someone took Harley Quinn's hammer to it. After we got home last night, Damian and I got shit-faced. I don't remember anything clear after that.

I make my way downstairs where I see Rusty, Leo, and Agnes talking softly at the bar. As soon as I enter the room, the talking stops. Agnes looks over at me, and makes a break for the door. Slowly, I approach the bar. The guys are both giving me dirty looks. "What crawled up your asses and died?"

"What the hell did you do?" Rusty asks with a glare.

"What?"

"Don't play fucking dumb. Agnes is upset, and she won't tell us what's wrong." Leo says, pushing my shoulder.

"I don't know! She wasn't in the room when I woke up." I tell them honestly.

At that moment, Damian enters looking even more out of sorts than myself. "Why does Agnes look like someone ran over her puppy?" He asks, jerking his thumb in the direction he just came from. I groan and race out the door, ignoring the calls from behind me. I run out the door and try to think of where she could be. Then it hits me. The woods. She wouldn't go by herself would she?

As I'm racing to the treeline, I catch sight of a small blonde figure sitting with a dog's head lying on her lap. I let out a sigh of relief. "Angel?"

No response. She simply runs her hand through Kansas's fur. "Angel please talk to me. Tell me what I did!" I start to walk towards her, but Kansas springs out of her lap and growl at me. She finally turns, and I see the red tear tracks on her face. She sniffles, and I lose it completely.

"Dammit angel please! I want to help you." Another tear slips down her face. I'm about to toss Kansas into oncoming traffic to get to Agnes, when she suddenly stands up and throws herself into my chest. Her small arms wrap themselves around my waist.

I wrap my arms around her, and pull her into a sitting position on my lap. I stroke her hair and whisper soothing words into her ear. When she's finally calm, I decide to ask what happened. "Angel, I need you to tell me what happened." She shakes her head and burrows further into me.

"Agnes." I say firmly. She peeks her head up at me, doe eyes meeting mine.

"It's embarrassing." She whispers meekly.

I take a deep breath. I don't want to pressure her, but I need to know she's okay. "Do you promise you'll tell me if it's serious?"

She nods her head. Begrudgingly, I let her off my lap and lead her over to my bike. She's already dressed for school, so I just grab her book bag off the front porch.

"You sure you're alright?" I ask her. She nods and offers me an attempted smile. I hate that.

Agnes POV

The day flies by pretty quickly. Lots of people have asked me if I'm alright today. I'm fine. I just need to accept that he isn't interested in a romantic relationship with me. Yeah, I'm fine.

As I'm walking out to the front of the building, I see the same girl from yesterday. She's up against a locker. She is standing next to Josh. Her face is red, and she won't look him in the eye. As I walk closer, I can hear what Josh is saying better.

"You should be thankful I'm even looking in your direction. Do you know how many girls want to fuck me?" The girl's eyes widen and her face goes even redder when he says that.

"I-I'm s-sorry." Her voice is so quiet and soft, I almost don't hear her.

"Then shut the hell up and be glad I'm paying your midget ass some attention." He barks. The girl looks down and crosses her arms, running them nervously up and down the material of her sweater.

"I-I'm sorry, b-but I d-don't r-really-" Josh cuts her off as she starts speaking.

"Don't what!" He roared. The girl let a tear slip down her face. Now I'm just mad. This girl is a sweetheart! How could he yell at her. I don't do this often, but I think it's high time I say something.
