Daniel Middleton woke up extra early to get ready for his date with Rosie. He showered, took 20 minutes picking out an outfit, and even cleaned out his car for this girl.

It was easy to tell he was head over heels in love with Rosemary Griffin. i

Rosie was excited too. She took the extra 15 minutes to braid her hair and even wore her favorite flannel. Rosie was beautiful, no one could deny it. Especially in her light wash, baggy jeans Daniel loves and a simple cream crop top with her flannel.

Daniel picked her up at 7:30 exactly in his cherry colored car.

"Hey, Danny" Rosie greets.

"Hi." He replies simply. Middleton wasn't too good with words.

"Nice car you have" Rosie said, trying to avoid an awkward situation.

"Thank you, it's my dads. Or well it was my dads."

And suddenly the car was filled with the exact thing Rosemary was trying to avoid, awkwardness. Daniel began driving even thought they both felt suffocated by the silence.

"You look nice tonight, Middleton." Rosie complemented him, bringing a blush to his cheeks.

"Not as good as you, Griffin."

"Wow! Your flirting skills are getting pretty good Dan. Soon you'll be better than me!" Rosie comments sarcastically.

"Nope. Never. My flirting skills will never be as good as THE Rosie Griffins." Middleton looks at Rosie and gives her a warming smile. One that Rosie returns.

After a couple of minutes they finally arrived at the drive in theater. Little do they know what's in store for them.

Middleton kindly pays for their tickets and finds the perfect parking spot for them. He didn't want to mess up anything with Rosie, she was too perfect for him to mess it up.

"I'm gonna go buy some popcorn, do you want anything?" Daniel asks.

"Um, some cotton candy please but, only the pink kind." She responds.

Daniel nods and walks over to the concession stand. $15 worth of food and drinks later he makes his way back to the car.

"Thank you, Daniel." Griffin greets Dan when he arrives back.

When the movie starts Daniel is oblivious to Rosie's hand, which was making its way to Daniels.

Even though Middleton has guts, he also is a complete idiot when it comes to girls.

"Grab my hand Middleton."

I guess Rosie had guts too.

"Oh um," Daniel fumbled.

You could practically smell the obliviousness in the air.

Eventually Daniel and Rosie's hands were intertwined, Rosie's head laying on Daniels shoulder.

They were both visibly happy and comfortable. Rosie has never felt such a connection with a boy before, not even Hunter. Daniel brought out the best in Rosie and tonight proved that.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom really quick." Rosie tells him.

And this is where things start to go downhill.

Rosie makes her way to the bathroom while a certain Strawberry makes his way over to Middletons car.

Daniel has his eyes fixed on Rosie's perfect body walking until a loud slam pulled his eyes away.

Suddenly a girl is entering his car.

"It smells like fucking shit in here." The stranger girls says next to him. Daniel is beyond shocked. He wasn't going to let this stranger ruin his chances with Rosie.

"Can you take me home?" She asks.

"i'm on a date right now, it's not exactly the best time." Dan argues.

Suddenly an above average looking boy knocks on the window. "Come on gorgeous, enough with the hysterics alright? You're embarrassing yourself." The boy begs.

"Suck a Fucking dick, asshole."

"Who's the river rat huh?" He insults Daniel

"Drive. Now." The stranger in the passengers seat screams.

Daniel quickly backed out of the parking lot, his hands clammy.

"Who the hell was that?" Dan questions.

"My date. He's fucking crazy." She answers.

"Rosie's gonna kill me." Daniel mutters while driving the girl home.

"Rosie Griffin? You were on a date with Rosie Griffin?" The girl asks.

"Who are you anyways?"

Daniel doesn't get mad very often but, he was heated at that moment. Who does this girl think she is insulting Rosie like that? Little does he know that THE McKayla Strawberry was sitting next to him.

"I'm McKayla Strawberry, and trust me Rosie is a lot to handle."

Fuck.

Middleton had stood up Rosie for the one family she hates the most. He knew she was going to be BEYOND mad at him.

"I hear your family's not that easy going either." Dan replies.

He gets no answer besides a soft chuckle and a quirky smile.

As for Griffin, she is met with disappointment and an empty parking lot.

Rosie was in shock. She had never gotten stood up before. So she did the only thing she knew to do. She called Hunter.

"Hello?" A confused Hunter answers.

"It's me, Rosie. I need you to pick me up from the drive in theater."

Rosie regrets wearing a crop top. Even with her flannel she was cold and now without a car, she was shivering.

"Did your new boy toy leave you there?" Hunter pushes knowing it would piss her off.

"Can you just hurry please?" She begs, not returning his joking behavior.

Rosemary Griffin doesn't cry very often yet somehow she was standing in the cold with tear stained cheeks. Maybe Daniel isn't the best for Rosie after all.

"I'll be there in 5." Hunter puts it simply.

Rosie was broken and when Hunter arrived at the theater that night he could tell.

"I'm gonna kill that twig." Hunter threatens, hurt by the state of Rosie.

"No you're not. You're not my boyfriend anymore Strawberry."

The rest of the ride was silent until Rosie left the car.

"Thank you Hunter." She said before exiting the vehicle.

"You know you can call me at any time right?" Hunter tried to comfort Rosie.

"I know. Thanks." She said before closing the door and walking up to his porch.

And just like that Daniel loses a point and Hunter fucking Strawberry gets on Rosies good side. Rosie was mad and Daniel knew it. All he could do was pray for a second chance, and Rosie doesn't do second chances.
