So I've had this story in my head about two NightWings(Wings of Fire) living in the woods around Hometown in Deltarune and they're mother and daughter and Kris runs into them and ends up forming a really close bond with them and they spend a lot of nights just hanging out in the woods together
And then one night Kris gets fricken stabbed by someone who hates the monsters and anyone who associates with them
So anyway here's an actual written story about it

Kris ran through the moonlit town, clutching their shoulder where blood was flowing from a wound. Their side was bleeding as well, but the adrenaline kept the pain away long enough for them to escape. They went back into the trees on the other side of town from where they were stabbed and ran on the path to their bed of golden flowers, collapsing on it the moment they found it. The petals below them became red as they struggled to breathe. Their energy was fading, and the full pain from both stab wounds was setting in. They faintly heard a familiar call, but they weren't sure if it was just their ears playing tricks on them. It came back again and again, growing louder and more panicked each time. Then it was answered with a different call, coming from right behind the human. They were nudged up to their feet by the large black dragon they had grown so close to over the last several months. She let them lean against her side and put her wing around them, guiding them to where a much smaller dragon was waiting. The dragonet bounced around her mother's talons and Kris's feet, and then back to the little hollow where she stayed most of the time. The mother laid down in the middle of the hollow with Kris, still letting them rest against her cool scales. The dragonet hopped over and rubbed her face on the human's chin, earning a smile from them despite their condition. She plopped down and curled up next to them with her tail over her snout while being enveloped by her mother's wing like a night sky with the starlike scales on its underside. Kris reached into the pocket of their sweater and pulled out a small purple music box with a white Delta Rune painted on top. They placed their finger to the keyhole and let their last bit of fire zip in and activate it. The top open to reveal a heart, one side red and the other side white. Their brother's lullaby started playing as they placed the box in front of them and put their arm around the Dragonet cuddled up to them. They closed their eyes and slipped away to the tune that always kept away their nightmares.

The dragonet woke up in faint sunbeams to her mother nudging her with her snout. She opened her eyes and sat up, shaking out her little wings and tail and stretching her talons, and then looking at the golden human resting behind her. She placed her talons on their arm, noting the red rip in their shoulder but not knowing what it meant. She started shaking them, trying to wake them up. "C'mon, Krissy! It's time to wake up!" They didn't move, or breathe, or do anything. The dragonet looked up at her mother. "Why aren't they waking up?" Her mother placed a claw on top of her head.
"They aren't going to wake up again."
"What? But what about their family? They gotta go home."
"I'm sorry, moonshine. They were hurt too badly."
"H-hurt?" She looked back at the rip, and then down at the pool of red staining the ground beneath the human. "But... But they gotta wake up! They gotta wake up and do that firey thing with their hands and go home!" The dragonet's mother wrapped her tail around her and pulled her closer.
"There wasn't anything we could do. I'm sorry. They're gone." The dragonet stepped forward and reached for them again, hesitated, and then picked up their music box and put it in their arms. Her talons brushed against their skin, now frozen cold. She whimpered and went back to her mother.
"Why did they have to leave?"
"I suppose it was just their time."
"...Are you gonna leave too?"
"No, moonshine. I'm never going to leave you."
They took Kris and their music box back to the golden flowers they loved so much and set them down on top of them. The dragonet put the music box in their arms again, then stepped back while her mother showered leaves on their body. The two sat there for a little bit until they heard the calls of Kris's mother and had to leave.
