The wind tied Juvia's blue hair into a mixture of tangles and waves. Her fingers unconsciously swept by her face to tame her wild locks. At the corner of her eye, she could see the shadowy figure of her bodyguard. His shoulders were pulled back as he stood tall, arms crossed. His gaze lingered at something in the distance and she couldn't help but stare in awe as his toned arms bulged when he pulled out a transceiver.

"Everything's secured over here," he murmured.

Even his voice sent jitters down her spine.

Turning to face Juvia, Gray cocked an eyebrow as she stared back at him doe-eyed.

"Is everything alright, Miss Lockser?"

His lips were permanently tugged down in a frown but somehow the most caring voice Juvia had ever heard left those very lips.

His charcoal-black hair was pressed against her forehead as he leaned in to check her temperature.

"You didn't happen to catch a cold, did you?"

Juvia entwined her hands together nervously, "o-of course not."

He took a step back as the words left her mouth and she instantly regretted it. "That's good then," he muttered.

Juvia's face flooded with embarrassment as Gray carefully threaded back a loose strand of her hair. His eyes were unreadable when he stared past hers, focusing his attention on the stubborn lock of hair.

"I'm fine, really," she exclaimed. Taking a small step back, her feet collided into a rock. Before she could react, a strong hand enveloped her around the waist. Pulling her towards his chest, he couldn't resist a chuckle. "You don't seem fine at all."

Juvia's face burned as she hastily tried to push him away but to no avail.

"Miss Lockser, please tell me what's wrong. It's my job."

At that, Juvia let her lips form a pout as she pushed him away with greater force this time, and he let her.

"Nothing is wrong, Mr Fullbuster," she mocked. "I'm just being normal, like you are on your job." This time, it was Juvia's turn to cross her arms.

Gray's eyebrows knitted together with confusion.

"You know you can just call me Gray, Miss Lockser."

"No, Juvia insists on calling you Mr Fullbuster since you insist on calling Juvia Miss Lockser, Mr Fullbuster," she grumbled. She clumsily pushed back the annoying piece of hair that didn't seem to like to stay still. Even she knew how ridiculous she sounded right now.

"I'm just... doing my job, Juvia." Gray sighed as he raked a hand through his now dishevelled hair. Twisting his other hand to glance at the time, Gray bit his lip in frustration. "Look, Miss Lock- Juvia. Time's up today, I'll send you back home."

Before Gray could swing open the car door, Juvia stormed off, desperately trying to hide away from her bodyguard's worried gaze.

She couldn't bear to stay another second with him anymore. It drove her insane whenever he'd take her home and leave without doing anything. His fingers would graze her hands lightly as he would lead her into the door of her apartment. The stern yet tender glance he would send her as she closed the door caused her to forget how to breathe.

Juvia knew he was merely her bodyguard and nothing more, but a part of her heart ached when she saw those darkened eyes survey her before leaving.

Hurriedly wiping away a tear, Juvia tore away from his grasp but failed miserably.
