The television murmured faintly in the living room. The curtains were drawn and the screen illuminated the room with a dim glow. Gray leaned against the coal black couch, his feet sprawled across the wide leather. Birds chirped boisterously outside the apartment window, signaling the start of a new day.
The water mage silently limped to the living room, clasping the smoke grey walls for support. Her blue hair trailed behind her back and ended in messy curls. She hastily pulled a white blanket further up around her chest as she noticed Gray's stare.
Gray immediately got up to his feet and approached the girl.
"Gray-sama," she beamed. "You're up early."
Gray hurried to her side, gently caressing her delicate shoulders and holding them against his chest for support. His eyes darkened as they fixated on her bandaged leg. He noticed faint colours of red smudged across her thigh and grimaced.
"Blood? Were you bleeding again?"
Juvia quickly adjusted the white blanket that was wrapped around her naked frame. "Juvia's fine," she sighed. She let the blanket fall down to cover her legs. "You don't have to worry."
Gray lowered his eyes and frowned. "Let me see."
"Juvia doesn't want you to see."
"Juvia, let me see."
Juvia trembled at his low and demanding voice but didn't budge. "No," she objected.
Gray's arms stiffened and Juvia shuddered as his hold hardened.
"No? No is your final answer?"
Juvia nodded her head furiously. "No is her answer."
Juvia's eyes widened in surprise as a smirk creeped onto Gray's lips.
Before she could protest, she was lifted from the polished floor and her legs dangled in the air as Gray enclosed her within his arms. Juvia shrieked in surprise when she felt his warm grip under her thighs and waist, as he carried her to the couch.
"Gray-sama! Let me down!" Juvia whacked her pale hands against Gray's defined shoulders which soon proved to be futile.
She squirmed in his hold as he gazed down at her. "No, Gray-sama please don't look," Juvia fretted. "Juvia doesn't want you to be worried."
Gray creased his eyebrows in annoyance. "You're making me even more worried. I think you've done enough," he sighed.
Gray tenderly let Juvia down onto the sofa and tucked her legs against the scattered pillows.
"You comfortable?"
Juvia nodded silently.
Gray clenched his jaw as he braced himself, slowly lifting the blanket away from her legs. He wasn't sure he could endure seeing Juvia injured again. He's seen it too many times. He always thought that he'll eventually get used to it but instead, it was the opposite.
Albeit her nasty injury that was enclosed by bandages, her legs were as beautiful as they could ever be. Pale as snow and soft as a feather. The ice mage found it difficult to focus.
Gray's fingers brushed over her wound but he instantly stopped when Juvia whimpered. "Sorry," he muttered. His husky voice resounded through the room. "I'll be gentle."
Juvia peered at Gray as he carefully lifted her leg to untie the bandage, then letting it back down onto the leather surface beneath her. He repeated this until a fresh wound arose. Gray winced as if it was his.
Juvia watched him with concern, praying that this would be over soon. "G-Gray-sama?"
Gray didn't respond as his dark blue eyes focused on her wound, taking every inch of it in. His hands curled into a tight fist and his eyes narrowed. He let out a heavy breath he didn't realise he had been holding in.
Juvia fidgeted nervously, waiting for him to say something. To say anything.
"Juvia knows it's ugly and she hates it too, but she'll get Wendy-san to fix it up as soon as she can. It's only five in the morning right now so Juvia doesn't want to bother-"
"Juvia." Gray interrupted her abruptly and collapsed onto the sofa chair directly beside her. His fingers rubbed his temples slowly. "Why do you do this to me?"
Juvia frowned, holding herself upright with her elbows for support. "Gray-sama, what's wrong? What did Juvia do?"
Gray grumbled into his palms as he felt like murdering someone. He was so frustrated with himself. Frustrated that he couldn't do anything to help ease Juvia's pain. He was frustrated with the fact that he wasn't there by her side to prevent this from happening in the first place. He was just so frustrated that Juvia was hurt and there was nothing he could do.
"Gray-sama," Juvia whispered. She carefully brought her legs down to the floor and shuffled over to the end of the couch. "Don't be upset, Gray-sama. Juvia's fine."
Gray sighed in response.
"It's true," she insisted. A pout arose at her lips. "Juvia doesn't think this is painful at all."
"Like hell you don't," Gray muttered.
Juvia placed her hands on her hips. "Gray-sama!"
Gray was about to retort back but he instantly averted his eyes to the television. Juvia tilted her head in confusion, but it dawned on her as she felt a breeze wisp her chest. To her horror, the white fabric that had been draped around her shoulders was now at her lap. Humiliated, Juvia tugged the blanket back to her collarbone. Her cheeks were a scarlet red.
Gray let his head rest in an open palm. "You really drive me crazy," he grunted.
His eyes dimmed as they drifted to the young woman that sat opposite of him. She was really a beauty. The sun began peeking through the curtains and it set an enticing glimmer on the water mage's glossy eyelashes. Her hair was the perfect shade of blue, sapphire blue, Gray noted. The blue of the precious jewel. He knew he had discovered an even better treasure and she was sitting right in front of him at this very moment. Oh, how much did he want to lock her up in a chest and keep her to himself.
Gray bit his lip as he couldn't help but trail his eyes to her neck. Her pale skin glowed naturally, emphasising her unique eyes that were averted away shyly.
Gray groaned, startling the water mage. He felt his ears burn as his mind began to run wild. His head was full of this girl who he found so impossibly perfect.
The couch dipped down as Gray seated himself beside Juvia, their bodies inches apart.
Juvia quivered as she felt Gray's gentle fingers curl around her jaw, but immediately warmed up to his hold. Gray tilted her face so her eyes would meet his.
"I don't want to ever do this again," he growled. His eyes wandered to her lips. "I'll be coming with you on your next job." Juvia rested her hand on his. "It's okay, Gray-sama. Juvia can manage," she smiled.
Gray crinkled his eyebrows. "Listen when I talk to you." He stroked a thumb against her cheek as a blush hinted at the sides of her face.
Juvia let out a soft chuckle, the sound Gray loved the most. "Juvia loves you, Gray-sama."
Gray swallowed and his deep growl shocked Juvia. "You're going to regret provoking me like this."
Within seconds, Juvia found her lips pressed against Gray's. He tugged her lips to his, letting their mouths mould with each other. He found the perfect angle where Juvia's silky lips sunk between his. He brushed his tongue over her bottom lip, lightly biting down when he felt like she was comfortable enough. His hands began to feel around her waist and he immediately pulled away, leaving Juvia flustered and wide-eyed.
It was Gray's turn to blush. "Sorry," he tousled his disheveled hair. "I don't think I'll ever stop."
Juvia nearly passed out. She brought her hands to her face, hiding behind them in embarrassment. "Gray-sama..."
The ice mage raised his head, face still pink.
"Juvia loves you."
Gray grumbled before leaning in again. "You're really a handful..."
