"So where do you want to go?" Kat asked.
James shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't been in London much, so I don't actually know any places."
"Really? Well then you're in luck, because I have a ton of places I want to show you. I'm not even sure I can fit them all in today."
"If that's the case, why don't we get started?" James smirked. "Oh, and if we don't finish I'm fine with continuing the tour another day." he added quickly.
"Great!" Kat smiled. She was happy for an excuse to spend more time with James. "So, are you feeling food or amusement park?"
"What's an amusement park?"
"You've never been to an amusement park before? Where do you live, under a rock?!"
"Hey! I'll let you know, I live in a perfectly nice house. No rocks involved," James protested.
Kat smiled. "I was just teasing. Anyways, I have the perfect place to show you."
Meanwhile, at Sirius and James's apartment...
Sirius looked at his watch. "Where is he?" Sirius thought. James was late. Again. But unlike the other times, James hadn't told him that he'd be late. It had been almost two hours and James still hadn't arrived. James knew that they were all meeting up today, right? Definitely. They met every Saturday, and he had reminded James this morning that the get-together was today so he wouldn't forget. So where was he?
"Sirius, do you know where James is?" asked Lily.
"No. Maybe he forgot it was today?"
"Why did that sound like a question?" Sirius winced. Lily was standing in front of him, her arms crossed and her prefect glare on her face. She frowned at him, and then said, "This had better not be a prank you guys are playing on me!"
"No! I swear, I don't know where he is!"
Remus came to his rescue. "Calm down, Lily. Sirius is not playing a prank on you, he's telling the truth. We don't know where James is, but I'm sure he's fine. And anyways, Lily, why do you care where he is? You're the one that constantly rejects him."
Lily turned as red as her hair. "Oh, so I'm not allowed to ask where he is just because I don't have feelings for him?! Is that what you're saying?!"
Remus glared back at her. "Yeah, maybe that is what I'm saying!"
Alice quickly stepped in. "Guys, calm down. Lily, Remus didn't mean that. And Remus, you need to relax. James is going to be fine." She addressed both of them.
Remus immediately backed down. "Sorry Lily, I don't know what came over me. It's just close to that time of month, you know?" He murmured.
"Wait, I know! I can call him!" Sirius said.
Frank looked at Sirius. "Why didn't you think of that earlier? Why didn't any of us think of that?"
Sirius smiled sheepishly. "I'm not used to the muggle contraptions yet. I forgot."
"Seriously Sirius? I mean --"
"Don't you mean siriusly?" Sirius cut in.
Marlene groaned. "That joke has been used waaaay too many times."
Sirius just smirked and dialed James's phone number.
Back to Kat and James...
James took a bite of his pizza and said, "You were right, this is amazing."
Kat laughed. "Duh, it's pizza. I still can't believe you've never had it before. No pizza, no amusement parks, what's next? No tv?"
James looked at her. "What's a tv?"
Kat immediately stopped laughing. "You're joking, right?" James shook his head. "Well then, after we finish our dinner we are going to watch a movie. It's not the same thing, but it's similar."
James smiled. "After all you've showed me, I know it'll be great. But I'm not sure a movie," saying the word funnily, "can top the amazing rides at the amusement park."
"We'll see," Kat smiled and took another bite of her pizza slice. They were sitting in a packed pizza place, with a line that went around the corner. The loud noise of people talking along with the music playing made it very hard to hear each other. So when James's phone rang multiple times, neither one of them noticed. They finished their pizza (Kat got the classic cheese pizza for them), and walked to the movie theater.
Kat got two tickets for Ferris Bueller's Day Off and bought popcorn. Then she led James into the theater. He was staring in awe at the velvet seats and the huge screen. Then he noticed what Kat was holding.
"What's that?" James asked curiously.
Kat sighed. By now, she had gotten used to James not knowing what simple things were. "It's called popcorn," she explained patiently. "Just try it." James took a single piece, inspected it carefully and popped it in his mouth.
"Mmm, that's good!" he exclaimed and grabbed a handful of popcorn. Then, Kat got on with the task of explaining how a movie worked to James. When the opening credits came on, James was in awe.
"That's amazing!"
"Yeah, it is isn't it? It's amazing how much humans have accomplished." She said softly. James looked at her. "I never really thought about it that way," he murmured, more to himself than to Kat. Then he turned to face the front and watched the movie wide-eyed. Kat smiled at him and also turned towards the movie.
