Lydia's eyes burnt like Hell itself. She wiped away another track of bloody tears. Her vision was fine enough for her to see as she walked further into Hawkins. Heart shaped sunglasses took over the part of her face that was nothing more than a smear of swollen red, and no one gave her much of a second glance unless it was the usual catcalls she had become accustomed to. A simple middle finger and it was solved.

She did become aware however when a car pulled slowly behind her. At first she had simply tigthened her fist anxiously. But now the car was still following closely to her. She felt her heartbeat in her throat as she whipped around, nearly crying out as a hand closed around her arm. She knew the car was close, but not that close.

"Hey, it's just me."

"What the fuck, Nancy?" She cried. Her throat tightened in tears and her body shook with anxious adreneline. Nancy gave Lydia puppy dog eyes in apologies before urging her into the car. Lydia hardly had time to realize it was Jonathon driving before they sped off again.

"What the hell is going on?" She asked eventually, her voice shaking more than she wanted to admit. Nancy was staring blanky out the window and still hadn't so much as told Lydia the destination. Jonathon looked over at Nancy as if hoping she would answer. When she didn't, he grumbled and then said "A lot."

Lydia scoffed and crossed her arms across her chest. "Yeah, I'm gonna need more than that Byers. I thought you were kidnapping me a few minutes ago and I'm still not totally sure that you aren't right now."

Nancy snorted in the front seat and whipped around. Lydia could smell her shampoo, and the smell made her heart skip a beat. "We're going. It's an adventure. Just let us do what we need to do and we can talk later. And why are you wearing those glasses? It's like, 7 at night." Nancy reached out to grab the frames and despite Lydia's cry to not touch them, she pulled them away in a swift moevment and screamed, causing Jonathon to slam on the breaks.

"What the fuck happened to your face, Lydia?" She cried, hand clapsed over her chest. Lydia stared at the now cracked glasses on Jonathon's floor and exhaled angrily. "You owe me five bucks and a new walkman now Drew."

"Lydia." The cool tone in Jonathon's voice scared her a bit, and she looked up into his eyes shyly. She felt like her face and neck were on fire. "It's nothing. I...I fell this morning."

"Bullshit. You have it running down your nose like..." Nancy's eyes widen as Lydia's face went slack.

"Oh my god. Wait...like Eleven."

Jonathon's eyes opened wide and he stared at Lydia with a mix of fear and curiosity.

"It's not like its the end of the world. You can stop staring now." Lydia turned back to the car window, clenching her jaw knowing full well that the pair were still staring at her.

"We need to stop for the night, Jonathon. We can't walk around with her looking like that. It's not...it's gonna do more damage than good for what we need to do." Nancy wiped a hand absently under Lydia's nose, wiping it on her jeans when it came away tacky with blood.

Jonathon nodded, and restarted the car. Nancy's hand found Lydia's behind the seat and held on tight.

Levi flipped the burgers over, his stomach churning painfully. He had felt sick all day, and now was no different. Kali came up behind him, hugging him and kissing his shoulder gently. He turned to face her, connecting their lips quickly. The group shouted beneath them, playing the same card game they never seemed to bore of. It was fun at first, but now it reached a point of just irritating him.
