"Tomorrow truly was the first day of the rest of our lives."

- Twisted, Chapter One.

"Once upon a time, not so long ago, lived a girl with purple hair. She was born to what she was told was a good family and gifted a father she thought cared more than anyone else in the world could possibly care for a daughter. The girl was not always happy, especially when it came to anything to do with her mother, but she thought she had a good life. That was until a man by the name of Mad-Eye Moody turned her world all around."

"The girl was just eight years old when the Aurors came a-knocking, and though she was scared at first she soon knew she could trust these witches and wizards far more than she could trust anyone else she had ever met. She saw Mad-Eye Moody as a savior, for not only had he taken villains off the street, he had also saved the young girl from her mother and revealed to her how wicked her family truly was. Quite some time would pass before the girl was truly saved, but eventually, she turned eleven and was taken to the Hogwarts Express for the first time. It was there that she, quite distracted, ran into another young girl with hair just as wild as her own..."

"Aunty Dora!" Artie cheered, a wide grin on his small freckled face as he laid in his bed starring up at me with his beautiful blue eyes.

I shook my head at him with a laugh, "Artie, if you want me to tell you this story so badly you are going to have to be quiet and listen... otherwise, it will take all night!"

He giggled, "Sorry Mummy... can you please tell me the story?"

I let out a small sigh, "As I was saying... I ran into a young girl with hair just as wild as mine and we quickly learned that we were more than just mere strangers, our mothers were sisters and that made us cousins."

"You never talk about your mummy." Artie said softly, "What was her name? What was she like?"

I bit my lip for a second, then took a shaky breath knowing the day would come when he would start asking questions about my side of the family. I had just hoped it wouldn't come that soon. "Well honey, I didn't really have much of her mother. Nana Molly has been more of a mother to me than mine ever was honey... but the woman who gave birth to me was named Bellatrix Lestrange, and she was a very bad person."

"What happened to her?" Artie asked his eyes big, as though he seemed just as surprised as I was that I was answering his questions, "Where is she now?"

I pulled him into my lap, feeling his eyes stare up at me as he waited for me to speak, "We will get there honey... if you want me to tell this story, after all."

"Please mummy?"

"The girl found her first friend in Dora at school, and then her first real family. When she could no longer be cared for by her childhood nanny, it was Dora's family who took her in and she became close not only with her cousin but with her aunt Andromeda and uncle Ted, whom your cousin Teddy is named after." I said softly, "By the time she had completed her time at Hogwarts the girl, now young women, knew what she wanted to do, and so off to become a healer she went. The training was hard, but by the time she completed, she was offered a job far away from anything she ever knew. A dragon Reserve in Romania."

"She remembers her first day very well... and her first patient, a red-headed young man who tended to get a little to close to the dragons, forgetting that they were, well, dragons. Though she also remembers that he knew who she really was, for back then she did not go by Lestrange. She went by her uncle's surname, Tonks. Still he became her first true friend there, and eventually, he became much more."
