On the outskirts of Ottery St Catchpole,
not all that far from the Burrow at all,
on May 2nd, 2000,
at 8:37 am
Arthur Weasley woke me up.
"Mummy! Mummy! Wake up! Wake up!" Artie cried as he jumped up and down on the bed, "It's morning! Everyone is coming today!"
I let out a soft groan and gave a small kick towards Charlie stirring him from his sleep as well. He too let out a soft groan and rolled over to look at our rambunctious four-year-old son. "Arthur..." He grumbled, "Go back to bed..."
"It isn't even seven, darling." I said softly as I lifted myself off my pillow, "People won't be here for hours..."
"No!" He said quickly, "They will be here before then!"
Charlie groaned, "Come on Artie, you can crawl into bed with your mum and me if you promise to go back to bed..."
"Does that apply to me as well?" A voice asked from the doorway of the room, I quickly jumped up with wand in hand, only to see Poppy Placer standing in the doorway of our bedroom. My eyes widened and I quickly jumped out of bed to pull her into a hug.
Poppy Placer had not changed all that much over the past two years. She was still as short as she was at seventeen years old when I met her for the first time. She was more than a head shorter than I, and her light brunette hair was not as tidy as it had once been, but her hugs were just as snug. At twenty-two years old she was a bright and beautiful young woman, and I couldn't imagine anyone better to be one of the co-godmothers of my son. During her travels, it was easy to tell that she had learned a lot not only about herself but about the other magical communities of the world. She was no longer the same young woman I had met nearly five years ago, but she was amazing none the less.
Artie laughed, "I told you, mummy!" He giggled, "I told you people would be here sooner!"
I let out a soft laugh, "I didn't think you would be able to make it Poppy!" I cheered, "Oh it is so good to see you! Where is Percy?"
Poppy smiled softly and gave me another tight squeeze, "He is here... he is..."
A soft tap on the door interrupted her, "Right here." Percy said stern look on his face, "I thought we were going home from the airport Poppy, not here?"
Poppy grinned cheekily, "Well, we were coming here later on anyway, and I know how much you like to be early, isn't that right love?"
The young man let out a slight groan as he entered the room and wrapped his arms around Poppy's waist, "Not quite this early love. We weren't expected for three more hours Poppy!" He said with a light chuckle. It was nice to see this side of Percy, one who felt carefree and at peace around his family, it was taking time for him to feel comfortable around his family once again, but now seeing him wear a smile on his face I felt as though nothing had ever happened between them at all. "I am sure Charlie and Indy didn't quite plan on us dragging them out of bed quite so early on a day like today."
Poppy smirked, "And that is why I sent Artie to drag them out of bed darling."
I rolled my eyes, "Just you two wait until you have little ones running around... I will encourage them to cause all sorts of trouble." Percy paled slightly at my words, "And don't think they will be perfectly well behaved, I don't think any Weasley child has been perfectly well behaved."
