Tears began filling my eyes. Thousands of thoughts ran through my head.

I'm sorry Ayato.

I closed my eyes preparing for death but it never came.

My eyelids flew open and saw Kaneki.

"Kaneki! What are you doing, run!"

Ayato ran towards you and his expression was full of fear.

"Y/n are you okay? Don't die on me please.  Come on, stay with me here."

He tucked his hands under you as he started running towards the exit.

"No you can't leave Kaneki here. He's going to die!" my voice cracked and tears rolled down my eyes.

The last thing I saw was Kaneki, a sad smile hang from his face,  mouthing his last words,

"thank you,"

as Arima stabbed a qinque into his eyes.

Then everything went black...

With your eyelids heavy you struggled to open them. The sharp pain in your ribs was now gone.

You groaned as you supported your weight onto your hands to sit up. With your back now on the headboard of your bed your eyes gazed around the room. It was empty and cold since the windows were slightly opened.

Where's Kaneki?

Is he still alive?

What happened?

When did I get here?

Questions flew through your head and a specific ghoul interrupted your thoughts.

"Y/n you're awake!"

Ayato's arms now wrapped around you almost suffocating you to death.

"Yes now you can let go of me, silly," you choked out.

He pulled away and cracked a small smile.

"How long have I been unconscious?"

"2 weeks... you never woke up after cochlea."

You fidget with your fingers and bit your lips.

"Where's Kaneki?"

Ayato avoided your eyes,

"Ayato, answer me. Where is Kaneki?"

A pause was in the air,

"He's.. he's..."

"Spit it out Ayato, where is he?"
you yelled in annoyance.

God why is he being so slow?

"He's dead y/n, he's dead,"

Your eyes widened and your mouth parted.

Your exhales got deeper and time seemed to freeze.

"W-what do you mean by, dead,"

"He was killed by Arima Kishou. You witnessed it with your eyes. Remember?"

You shut your eyes hoping this was all just a dream. It's just a bad nightmare and you'll wake up just like any other time.

That moment never came.

Hot tears streamed down your face and rolled onto your cheeks. Sobs filled the room as you tightly clenched the blankets.

Then I met you... (Ayato Kirishima x reader) COMPLETEDWhere stories live. Discover now
