After a long walk, the mages and the demon finally made it to the destroyed guild hall of Fairy Tail. The other mages that make up the Fairy Tail family were also present when the others got there. Hell some of them were enraged as to why E.N.D is here and even tried to charge at him. Laxus, Makarov, and Guildarts had to hold them back and explain the situation. The entire walk back, E.N.D tried to hide his head in his wings along with the rest of his body so civilians wouldn't notice what he is, but as soon as he got a look at the guild, he completely forgot about hiding himself, and let loose a little.
The humans said. . . I did this? No. This can't be right. . Can it? . . .
E.N.D was brought out of his thoughts when a hand was placed on his shoulder. He flinched at the sudden contact and looked behind him, to see Erza was the one to take notice of his trace.
"Are you alright?" She asked. E.N.D honestly couldn't even tell if she was concerned for him or not.
E.N.D let out a low quiet sigh and looked back at the guild with guilt. "I'm not sure. . . Did I. . Did I really do this?"
Erza, although he couldn't see her, gave the demon a saddened expression. "Yes."
"Oh. . . I see. This must be the reason why the others aren't very fond of me."
Erza slightly cringed when she heard that. "That's. . . Part of the reason. Let's just say the rest is a lot more. . Complicated to explain at the moment."
"You needn't sugarcoat it. Although, I will not pry for the answers I seek. I'll just wait till you are ready to share. Wether it takes days or mere seconds, I shall wait no matter the time." E.N.D then looked back at Erza with determination in his eyes clear as day. "After all, I'm aiming to gain your trust, am I not?"
Erza looked surprised for a second, then gave him a small, admirable smile, which told the demon that he was starting to make progress. One step at a time. Or in his case, one human at a time, starting with the people that agreed to having him around.
"You sure you're another part of Salamander?" Gajeel asked. "Because he's not smart enough to talk like that."
"Hey! I'm smart!" Natsu declared.
"You have your moments." Happy mumbled. "And other times it's just recklessness."
"Who's side are you on!?" Natsu raged.
"Maybe his smarter bits were all parts of E.N.D. That would certainly explain his vocabulary and outlook." Lilly commented.
"When the hell did you start picking on me like everyone else!?" Natsu questioned with a few tick marks forming on his head.
"Well he is Gajeels Exceed." Wendy thought out loud, not meaning to actually say it.
"What the heck does that have to do with it?" Natsu asked the now frantic sky dragon slayer, who was now apologizing for what she said.
"And we're back with the dumb Natsu." Cana mumbled.
"Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe we ever lost him." Erza snickered, starting to get in on the fun.
Natsu then pointed his finger at everyone who insulted his intelligence. "You guys are bullies!"
Everyone let out a few chuckles and had smiles on their faces. If E.N.D was honest, it made him curious as to how they can all just joke around like this after what's happened. Humans are a mystery to him, that's for sure.
"Alright everyone!" Makarov's voice called out, interrupting Natsu and Gajeel's little brawl (which is mainly Gajeel holding Natsu in a sleeper hold and Natsu pulling Gajeel's hair). "The guild won't rebuild itself. Let's get to work!"
