(A/N:lets pretend all the demons in Tartaros are still alive.)
Rebuilding the guildhall wasn't easy with the lack of communication, fights, and breaks to calm some angered mages down. But eventually they were able to at least have a guild to go into. As for the interior, that still needs work. E.N.D was just standing at the entrance while the mages were bustling around trying to get things fixed. Even Natsu was too busy to notice that his demon friend was just standing alone at the entrance instead of mingling. Makarov came up to E.N.D and decided to make conversation.
"Is there something wrong? You look hesitant." He asked, sounding a bit worried. After all the progress E.N.D has so far it looked like he was stumped again.
"Actually yeah." E.N.D admitted. He looked down at the shorter man and gave him a serious yet concerned look. "What happened to the demons of Tartaros?"
Makarov wasn't expecting a question like that, so naturally he took a little while to compose himself before the next sentence left his mouth. "I'm not sure. The moment they were defeated you and Natsu had been separated, so that gave them all enough time to escape."
"I see." E.N.D mumbled while turning his gaze away from the old man.
Makarov was afraid to ask, but he wanted to know the reason behind this. "Is there a reason why you want to know where the Tartaros demons are?"
"Yeah. . . But, you might not like it."
"You don't have to worry. Please continue." Makarov encouraged with a kind tone of voice.
E.N.D looked extremely hesitant, probably more so than the pervious times he would reluctantly give in. But based on how things have been with Makarov so far, he couldn't really find a reason to back out now. ". . I . . . I want to give them a second chance at redemption. . . ."
Makarov once again wasn't expecting to hear this, so he needed a little bit to compose himself again, but this time longer. This worried E.N.D and he was starting to regret asking the question that led to this.
"Master? . ."
"S-sorry." Makarov apologized, shaking his head slightly to get rid of his daze. "It's just that. . Um. . . The Tartaros demons, they-"
"I know what they've done to you and your guild." E.N.D said, cutting the old man off. "But, I was hoping that since they see me as their master, that they would listen to me. . . I just wanna help people, including demons."
After that last sentence, Makarov understood the demons intentions. Over the last couple days he noticed that E.N.D was a kindhearted and gentle demon when it came to living things. It was like that so much that if he didn't have a the wings, scales, claws, and horns he would surely pass as a human.
Makarov let out a sigh, knowing that he was going to regret this decision, not only because the rest of the guild won't approve of it, but also because if the Magic Council finds out, they could all be arrested and E.N.D might even be killed.
"Very well. I will allow you to try to convince Tartaros to join us. But you should take Erza and Natsu with you."
E.N.D looked at the ground for a second before quietly asking; "could I also bring Lucy and Wendy? . . ."
Makarov was glad to hear a suggestion like that from the closed off demon, so he smiled and happily agreed. A few hours later, Natsu, Erza, Wendy, Lucy, and E.N.D were walking through a canyon. Carla and Happy insisted that they come along too, and E.N.D wasn't going to argue. Natsu got bored easily and he kept asking 'are we there yet, are we there yet?' Which E.N.D (ignorantly) kept replying with a bunch of no's, eventually Erza got fed up with it and threatened to cut Natsu down with one of her swords. That promptly shut him up for a good while, to which E.N.D was silently thankful for.
