~25 year later~

I sat in the driver seat of my ’67 impala, waiting on my older sister Luci. I held an unlit cigarette between my lips, trying to find my zippo. I found it, only to have my cigarette ripped from my lips. I looked up to see my sister glaring down at me.

“Are you serious?!” She yells at me, making an elderly couple stop and look at us.

“What? It’s just a cigarette.” I roll my eyes.

“You know what these can do.” She throws it across the parking lot.

“I’m not mom okay? I’m not going to smoke and drink my misery away.” I tell her, standing up.

Luci crossed her arms over her chest and glared at me. “You didn’t even say goodbye to her you know.”

“Didn’t think I had too.” I tell my sister, knowing she was mom’s favorite.

“Whatever, will you just take me home so I can get my bike and we can head on to Charming?” She asks.

“Why are we going to Charming again?” I ask, getting into the car with Luci.

“Mom wanted her friend Gemma to know what happened to her.” Luci says.

I roll my eyes and start my baby, heading over to Luci and mom’s place. It was a short, quiet car ride which was fine with me. Luci always had to have things go her way, she got that from mom and it always bugged me. But Luci and I had our moments when we actually did look out for one another. Once I pulled into the driveway, my sister was halfway out the door before I could put the car in park. I shake my head as she closed the door and got onto her bike. I put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway. I was going to follow my sister all the way to Charming.

I followed Luci as we pulled into a garage called ‘Teller-Morrow Automotive Repair.’ I took a deep breath and parked my car away from the bikes. I got out and walked over to my sister who was getting off of her bike. We had turned a lot of heads coming in and four guys made their way over to us. Luci held her head high as I pulled out a cigarette and lit it. They stopped in front of us and the older looking one spoke first.

“You two ladies having car problems?” He asked us.

“Um no, we came here looking for Gemma Teller.” Luci said, eyeing the guys. You see, my sister and I have trust issues with people having been betrayed by a lot of people. The number one person being our own mother.

“Sorry, she isn’t here. May I help you with what you need?” He asked.

“No sorry, what I have to tell her is between her, my sister and me.” Luci crossed her arms yet again.

“Well, I’m her husband Clay so I’ll make sure to give the information to her.” He said.

“No, that’s alright. My sister and I will come back later when she’s here.” I chipped in before my sister went off.

I pulled her by the arm to my car and gave her my keys. “You drive baby and I’ll drive your bike.”

“What, you don’t trust me now?” She asked, still fired up.

“Never said that.” I said, taking her keys and walking over to her bike.

I got on and looked over to see a blonde guy staring at me. We locked eyes for a second before I drove off, following my sister for the second time that day. We pulled into a hotel and decided to hang out there for the time being. I took a nap while we waited.
