I woke up, looked around. I had no recollection of how I got here or what happened to me. The only thing i really remember is my name Alice Hendeen. Instead of getting worked up, I jumped to my feet and surveyed my surroundings. I was in an old demolition site. Twirling around to get a full view on where I was did not help.

"Hello?" I called out into the void. There was no reply. I walked towards a crumbling staircase hoping to find some answers on where I was. As i walked up the stairs I realised how cavernous the room was. The ceilings were at least 30 metres high and the floor was 40 metres across. Although there were gaping holes in the ceiling the room was fairly dark. I had reached the top of teh staircase and was faced by a long, dark hall-way. There were many doors on each side of the hallway. They were all the same colour and I had no way of telling what was on the other side of them. Choosing at random, I opened a door, hoping there were answers hidden in the room. It was empty, apart from some ragged couches and a tall, thick wardrobe. I went over to the wardrobe, opened it and found a book. The cover was dusty. I sneezed as a blew the dust off the cover. It was a diary. I opened to a page and read

"Day 23- I have found out nothing more about what has happened to me. I still only know one thing. They are out there. Waiting. Watching. Never have I seen such terrible things. I stay in my room, hoping to escape them, but they come every night, looking for us. I know there are others here because i hear them. At night and during the say, running, whispering to others. I have often thought of stepping out of my room and looking for them, but i need to find out more first. If I can. I know they will come again soon so I had better wrap this up. I still know nothing. I only know one thing, My name Sarah Bell and I am still trapped here."

That was the end of the entry. I frantically wanted to know who "they" were! I turned the pages but that was the last entry. I threw the book down in frustration. I look in the wardrobe for more books but i only found a dirty, old t-shirt and a pair of matching pants, and a small picture frame that had fallen down. Just as i was reaching down to turn the picture the right way up i heard a small noise. That's when I felt the presence behind me...
