The Present Day

Sang POV 

Sitting at a long table, I was starting to get restless. This meeting that we all had to be here for was running quite long. James was looking at my area as our commander droned on and on. Releasing a loud sigh, Commander Wren set his eyes on me. "Sang, why is it impossible for you to sit and listen without disrespecting me?" he just had to ask. Deciding that a physical answer was better than a verbal one, I moved to stand by his side. Very quick and quietly, I froze him to be still as my arms tighten as he tried to get out as I finally said "You could have kept it simple but you didn't. Too bad that you have failed at your job to tell us that we have to work with the Academy. You refuse to tell who we are working with. Also, your council is trying to control us and that shit is not flying under the radar. Now tell us what we need to know, the bare bones please, and get out." Releasing him, he sputtered syllables that had no meaning as he tried to immediate us to listen to him. Slapping his face hard as he nervously quick said "The Toma team and a drug case. JH-14 is the drug." Once he was finished, he was running out the door. Sad that men who are bigger and taller than I are scared shitless. Laughter broke out once the door was shut again. Feeling a small smile come to my face, I reviewed everything I know about JH-14. It's not a new drug and has little effect on us due to facing worse drugs and poisons. Silently we all talked to each other that this should only take us only a week max if we were stopping a dealer or more again. Pulling out my phone, I looked up Axel Toma's contact. This was not the first time we had worked with them. Fun bunch, I especially liked working with Raven the most. Hitting the call button, there were only two rings before Axel answered. "Hello Ghost"  was what I was greeted with. I smiled a vicious proud smile as all of the info they knew was what the public knew. Not much else was needed for them to know, was there? "Hello Axel, so what are we doing now that requires us to help out?" deciding that to the point was the best for where we located. Frowning as I heard an unknown voice speak before even more unknowns were speaking. Hearing a heavy sigh  Axel answered my unvoiced questions. "You are on speakerphone and the case is bad enough that you need to work with the Blackbourne team too. There are nine of them and I will let them introduce themselves. The point is to stop dealers and you all might get the case to blow up the lab where the drug is being created." So good easy fun as I loved making bombs and setting things on fire when needed. "Hello, my name is Owen Blackbourne and I am the team lead" as his voiced reminded me of a steel blade that cut smoothly through paper and wood. Next came a hyperactive serious voice "My name is Sean Green and I am the team doctor." Nerdly calm soothly voice was next "My name is Dakota Lee. I prefer to be called Kota. I am the family lead." Okay, the leaders were an interesting bunch for an Academy Team. Slightly gaveling and deep came next "My name is Nathan Griffin." The soothest voice ever I heard from this bunch was next "My name is Victor Morgan." Following him was a slight greek accent as the voice spoke, "My name is Silas Korba." Grunts were the following noises as the deepest voice ever with a minor german accent came though next, "My name is North Taylor." What sounded like a sugar lover mixed with a hyperactive person was the next, "My name is Lucien Taylor. I much rather be called Luke though." The last one was filled with the most curse words I have ever heard anyone use with us "My fucking name is Gabriel Coleman. And what is your damn name and what the heck you look like?" The ones who are my family along with my best friend with myself are silently laughing at the questions. Using my neutral tone I responded. "You have to found that out as we work together and no I'm not a doll for you to play with. Also, everyone else is here listening. I will let them introduce themselves." We were all using the same tone of voice as I have used to answer Gabriel. "I'm Techno" was all that Tom said. Jenna followed suit with "I'm Heartwood." West let a moment pass before speaking up, "I'm Apollo." Raina smirked as she spoke, "I'm Sparky." Richard was lined up to smack her as he said, "I'm Lockhart." Letting my face rest with a small curious smile as I prompted my name, "As you know, I'm Ghost."  James did the same as me as did his,  "I'm Giant." Anora was smiling broadly as she was thinking of all the ways we are going to trick and test them when she let them know her name, "I'm Echo." Grayson who could remain silent decided to speak up when he saw that they made me calm just a little knowing that we were going in with a good group. "I'm Shadow and don't expect to easily get the answers you desire" was all he said with a small smirk and calm smile. Masters of the impossible that we are as the Toma team got to know that one time that we worked together in person. Nods from everyone told me what I needed to know. "Axel, we are going to your place to get to know everyone a bit better along with Shadow. ETA hour and a half." "Ok, see you all soon. We will dinner ready by then." Ending the call, the laughter let loose as we were most likely were going to push the newbies to their limits before the day is over. 

Axel POV

Sitting with the Blackbourne team going over everything was not what I wanting to do at that moment. I felt my phone buzzed and shock me. I knew that it was most likely one of the Shadows as they are the only ones who can call me even though the scrambler was active. Looking at the name before answering made me more curious about why she was calling, "Hello Ghost." Owen looked at me for answering my phone during a meeting and realizing that made thought the scrambler made him wonder who it was. Hitting the speaker button as everyone was quiet Ghost replied to me, "Hello Axel, so what are we doing that requires us to help out?" I noted that she was using a calm curious voice that already knew something. Ghost was the one I rarely spoke to and seen in person the least amount. She was the mystery that I wanted to solve so I could even get to know her. Luke and Gabriel started talking as that led to the others trying to quiet them so we could continue. Releasing a heavy sigh, I took pity on her as I filled her in. "You are on speakerphone and the case is bad enough that you need to work with the Blackbourne team too. Sean and Owen looked shocked at how blunt I was as I gestured to them to introduce themselves. One by one, they went. "Hello, my name is Owen Blackbourne and I am the team lead." "My name is Sean Green and I am the team doctor." "My name is Dakota Lee. I prefer to be called Kota. I am the family lead." "My name is Nathan Griffin." "My name is Victor Morgan." "My name is Silas Korba." "My name is North Taylor." "My name is Lucien Taylor. I much rather be called Luke though."  "My fucking name is Gabriel Coleman. And what is your damn name and what the heck you look like?" Everyone on my team was chucking quietly at Gabriel. He is going to be tested first by the others once we got to talking. Gathering ourselves was not an easy task with all that we knew about the Shadows was running through my head along with the first time we talked. "You have to found that out as we work together and no I'm not a doll for you to play with. Also, everyone else is here listening. I will let them introduce themselves" was the reply back but calm neutral tone instead of the calm intrigued one earlier. What caught my ear was that they were using the same tone of voice as Ghost when they did compare to the variety of tones that came with the Blacbourne team's. "I'm Techno" "I'm Heartwood." "I'm Apollo." "I'm Sparky." "I'm Lockhart."  "As you know, I'm Ghost." "I'm Giant." "I'm Echo."  I counted to eight when another voice spoke up that I didn't know. "I'm Shadow and don't expect to easily get the answers you desire." I was confused by that. Who was he to the Shadows? Who was he as a person? No answers as of right now. Everyone here was asking themselves the same line of questions. Ghost spoke up when we were not answering right away, "Axel, we are going to your place to get to know everyone a bit better along with Shadow. ETA hour and a half." Quickly gathering my wits, I responded with "Ok, see you all soon. We will dinner ready by then." Just as I was finished, she hung up on me. Corey shook his head no when I looked at him. Damn, they were hard to track down and get a hold of when needed. We already tried more than once with a variety of methods. Never succeeded once, they were just that good. We need answers badly. Looking at Owen, I saw the same desire to know and he nodded to let me know that they were in it too.
