I was laying down in my room in the basement just playing on my phone. I locked my screen and all I saw was my reflection looking back at me in the black screen. I was 23. I graduated from college a year ago. You would think that I would be making it big with a job in my degree and I would be living the best life ever. Well you would be wrong.
I, Ellie Thomas, was living with my parents basement. And I was working a part time job at a grocery store because that's all that was available when I moved back home to Arizona. Don't get me wrong my life wasn't all bad. I did have some great friends but all of them were busy because they had jobs that require a lot of time. And I also had my family, they weren't that bad and when I moved back home they did let me have the whole basement to myself so it was like I had my own apartment. It had its own bathroom, living room, bedroom, and a separate entrance so I couldn't complain to much. I just wished I was able to do something crazy with my life and live like the youtubers I watched on my phone.
I clicked on my phone to check the time. 12:36am. Yeah, that made sense I had gotten home from work and just flopped on my bed. I grab some sweatpants and a shirt and walked to my bathroom to get ready to go to bed. Or as I would call it watching youtube until I fall asleep two hours later. I hoped in the shower and it felt like as soon as I got in there I heard a ding on my phone. It shocked me but I didn't think much of it. It was probably my mom asking me why I was taking a shower so late, so I let it go.
I got out of the shower and threw my brunette hair into a bun for the night. I walked into my bedroom and turned off the light and laid down to start my night time routine. I looked at my phone and saw that the message wasn't from my mom. It was from my friend Jaiden. I had taken me back I unlocked my phone and looked at the message.

Jaiden: Guess who has two thumbs and is coming with me to vidcon this year. Hint, she is reading this text right now.
The text had taken me off guard. What was she saying? Was she kidding with me? Is this real? I had always wanted to go to Vidcon. Jaiden has gone a couple of times now. She was an animator on Youtube and so she got creator passes and all that fancy stuff. I was proud of all the hard work she had done and I was even prouder when she started to make it big. So, when she texted me this I didn't know how to react.

I was in a state of shock. How was I supposed to go to bed now. I tapped on my youtube and started watching all the youtubers that I might be meeting in just a couple of days. I was a mix of excited and nervous. But all I knew was that this was going to be one of the best trips of my life. I don't remember falling asleep, but I know I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
