It's a quarter to ten and I still haven't heard from him. He should have been here by now. I wonder what is taking so long as he is not answering his phone and texts. A sigh leaves my mouth and as soon as I lay my phone out of reach it starts ringing. I jump up and look at the screen, but weirdly enough it is not him. It's not the boy I wished had called, but it is his mom. I pick up the phone and listen to what she has to say. I drop my phone and burst into tears. My parents rush over to me when they heard my phone and my cries afterwards. I told them what happened. He was in the hospital. In a coma. My world broke down and we rushed to the hospital where I knew I would spend the rest of my time. It is quiet at the hospital and it's making me a little uncomfortable. The doctor shows us the way to his room. Tears fill my eyes as I see him laying there. His eyes are closed and he looks peaceful. I grab his usually warm hand, but it's ice cold now. "Babe, please wake up. I can't live without you. You promised me to stay alive, so don't you dare die on me." I squeeze my hand and bite my bottom lip. His hand feels soft. My lip starts to shake and I just have no clue what to do. My parents leave and I had to lrave as well, but I refused and they decided not to argue. I stay awake until deep into the night. I place my head on the bed and it doesn't take long for my eyes to close. Hours later I wake up with a hand on my shoulder. I turn around and look at a friend of mine. He sits next to me and hugs me. "I know we didn't have much time to get to now each other, but I'm here for you. I brought you some McDonalds for if you are hungry. I smile and take the bag. The cheeseburger is staring at me and I sigh. I'm hungry, but at the same time. My teacher came in the room and handed me the exam I have to do today and I give him a broken smile. He says: "I know that you head isn't in a learning state, but do you think that you can do the exams here with vision?" I nod and make my exam. That's how weeks go by. Me doing my exams, not getting called as indicator that I passed my exams. I couldn't be happy about it, because he wouldn't be there at my graduation. My friend rings the doorbell and he is wearing jeans and a blouse. "Are you ready?" He looks at me with a worried look. I sigh and nod. "I can just not go and get my diploma at school." He shakes his head. "I want to make a video of you getting it for him when he wakes up. He'll be so proud of you." I nod. My parents walk in the hallway and we all walk outside to the car. It's not a long drive, but it takes for ever in my eyes. I give my parents and friend a hug and run up to the chair that is picked out for me. While walking in a line to the stage, I see my stepfather walk away with his phone up to his ear. I give my friend a confused look and he signs that he doesn't know who called. I receive my diploma and I walk back to my parents. My stepfather walks back over to us and we walk outside. "Who called you? You missed my moment." He doesn't look to happy and I'm getting worried. "Let's just get home first." For some reason my friend grabs my hand and squeezes in it, which makes me even more confused. When we get home I look at everyone and demand an answer. My stepfather sighs and his mouth opens and he says: "He didn't make it." He voice broke and I hear his words, but for some reason my mind does not want to register what he said. I look at my friend and he sees my confusion. He hugs me and says: "He died of a heart attack." I feel the ground beneath my feet disappear and my friend tries to keep me on my feet. I want to cry, but my eyes are dry. No tears come out. I'm sitting on the ground, because my friend could hold me anymore. I feel his arm slip underneath my legs and picking me up. He tells my parents something like putting me to bed or something. He walks upstairs with me in his arms and places me on my bed. My puppy Snuggles comes over to me and licks my face and bites my arm softly. I feel my friend laying on his back next to me with his head turned my way. I made a promise. If he died I'd join him. "I know what you are thinking and I'm going to make sure that you aren't doing that. It's not the way you want to go." I ignore him and sigh. Hours later my friend finally falls asleep. I grab my bottle of water and my anti depressants and sleeping pills and take them all right after each other. I only get to take 4 pills or my friend wakes up and slaps my hand to make me drop the pills. "Don't. You're going to get through this." I roll with my eyes and sigh and go back to bed. The next morning I sneak out of bed and since I didn't undress last night, I just have to put on shoes and leave the house. I grab my pills and water and exit the house. I walk over to the closest place where people don't usually go. I hear my phone ringing. Apparently I took my phone with me as well. It's my friend, but I deny his call and turn off my phone. I take the pills crying. I look up to the sky and say: "I don't know what's out there, but I hope that I at least have you there. If not, I'll kill my soul if I can. I'm going to keep my promise. When you go, I'll go. No matter what. I will be soon with you my love." I take the last few pills and those are sleeping pills. I'm starting to feel tired and I lay down. I hear someone coming closer and she sees my water bottle and my pill packages. She immediately calls an ambulance. They arrive pretty quick, but when they get to me, it's to late. I feel myself slipping away and they are yelling at me to stay with them, but all I want is to drift away. "We're losing her", is the last thing I hear.
