The Path To Love

A man sits on a chair and it doesn't take long for soft voices to fill the room. Two beautiful children walk into the room with happy faces. A little girl and a little boy. The girl looks up to the man and smiles. "Dad, can you tell us the story again?" The little boy jumps up and down saying: "Yes, tell us the story!" The man smiles. "Well Vinny and Will, it all began many years ago....

It's a bright winter's day and the cold wind strokes a boy's nose. He just started walking home from hanging out with a few friends. He listens to his music and sighs. It is not a really long walk, but he is drowned in thoughts. It's hard not to focus on the things on your mind and that's exactly his problem. His eyes are focussed on the ground and does not see another person approaching him. They bump into each other and the boy falls on the ground while the other person manages to stay on his feet. He helps the boy up and the boy pulls out his earplugs. "I am sorry," he says. The other boy smiles. "Don't worry about it. I am Kayne." Kayne sticks out his hand. The boy smiles and shakes his hand. "Anthony, but people call me Tony." Kayne nods and he looks at Tony with his emerald green eyes. "You're voice is familiar to me." He sighs and Tony nods. "I am a streamer, so maybe that's where you heard me before. My username is FengPlayz." Kayne points his finger and laughs. "Yes, that's it! You are hilarious. I love your streams man." Tony smiles and blushes a little. "I will add you on Discord later, but I have to run now. My family is waiting for me." Tony nods and says: "I will keep an eye on it." They wave goodbye. Tony walks home with a smile on his face, but the smile doesn't last for long. His brain is fucking up his whole mood. He is thinking about how kind Kayne is and that he'd like to get to know him better. It's also clear that Kayne feels the same way, but what if Tony wants more in the end? Kayne would most likely not be interested. It would be useless to even think about stuff like that after just seeing him. Even though his eyes are the most beautiful eyes Tony has ever seen. Tony opens his front door, walks in, closes the door and hangs up his coat after taking it off. His mother is in the kitchen making some hot choco with marshmallows. His mother smiles at Tony and hands him a mug. "How was it at your friend's place?" She takes a sip and takes place at the kitchen table. Tony sits down as well and shrugs. "It was fun. We chilled nothing special." His mother senses that something is on his mind and asks him about it. "I'm fine mom. Don't worry." He smiles. "If you don't mind, I'd like to go upstairs and game a bit." She smiles and nods. "Have a lot of fun with your friends." He nods and takes his mug upstairs and places it down on his desk. He's waiting for his pc to start up and discord automatically starts up as well. He sees the friend request from Kayne and accepts it. He also gets a message from Gem, one of his new friends.

Fengplayz: Heyy

Gem_336: How are you doing? :)

Fengplayz: I am doing fine hbu?

Gem_336: I am fine :3

She always calls Tony a cutie, she does that to everyone and it is adorable. She is really sweet, but gets angry as soon as Tony kicks himself down. Tony takes a sip and burns his mouth. A few minutes later he gets a message from Kayne.

ItzKayne: Heyy Tony!

Fengplayz: Hey Kayne :)

The messages kept coming for hours and Tony didn't even play a game at all. For some reason he really liked talking to him. He was very similar to Gem as well. Whenever he'd kick himself down Kayne would send messages in caps about how wonderful Tony is. It always made him feel a little better.

It went on for a few months and Tony found himself stuck with feelings, not knowing how Kayne felt and to scared to ask. He's dated before, but never felt anything like he feels right now for him. Then Kayne hit him with the message to go for some lunch somewhere. Of course Tony agreed and they planned it at the end of the week, which is five more days. Those five days feel like an eternity to Tony. So the days go by really slow.

Finally the day of the lunch and Tony is really excited. He shows up early and finds Kayne sitting there already. Tony smiles and says: "And I thought that I was early." Kayne laughs and nods. "Oh well. Never hurts to be early." An awkward silence sneaked in and Kayne kept looking at Tony and then he just asked Tony: "Why do you kick yourself down so much?" Tony didn't really expect this question and sighs while sipping on his Sprite. "That kind of happened after some major disappointments in my life. Like ex's or friends who just turned out not being interested. Fucks your self esteem up." Kayne nods and looks at him with sad eyes. "It's such a waste that you can't see what kind of amazing person you are. You're beautiful, lovable, caring and just overall an amazing human being." Those words make Tony blush and Kayne smiles through his sadness. "Is there no one who keeps picking you up and motivating you?" Tony smiles a little and thinks of Gem. "There is this girl that keeps yelling at me for kicking myself down. She sends me paragraphs on how amazing I am and on how it's impossible to fully love someone when you don't love yourself fully." Kayne nods. "She is right though. Is she someone special?" Tony laughs soft and nods. "She is a wonderful friend, but nothing more than that. She has an amazing relationship herself." Tony takes another sip of his Sprite and Kayne places his hand on the free hand of Tony. "Then let me be your special person." Tony his face gets really red, but he is doubting if he should accept. He does like Kayne, but he doesn't want to end up getting hurt again. "Is it rude and a turn off if I wanted to think about it?" Kayne shakes his head. "Not at all. I understand completely. I asked out of the blew." Tony nods and the rest of the lunch date goes a little more smoothly skipping over all they just talked about like it never had been mentioned at all.

At home Tony was still debating with himself about what he should do. He sighs behind his desk and sees that Gem is online. Should he call her or text her? Without thinking, or asking Gem, he clicks on the call button and surprisingly she picks up. "Hey Tony, what's up?" Tony takes a breath and explains everything. "That is so cool. He sounds like such an amazing dude." Tony sighs and nods, forgetting about the fact that Gem can not see that. "I just don't know what to do. I don't want to end up getting hurt again." Tony can hear Gem laughing softly. "You'll get hurt anyway. You either give him a chance and you worry about everything you do or think that you did something wrong when he is sad or angry, or you get heartbroken about the fact that you have a crush and aren't able to follow it. Love is a risk no matter what you choose. It's what comes after that matters. You either have a sucky relationship or a wonderful one. Both can end and both can last. It's a choice you have to make, but I am telling you to take the chance. He is worried about you, he makes you feel better and in the end you might even learn to love yourself." Tony his eyes water a bit. "And even if Kayne is not the one, you'll still learn a lot from him. The good and the bad things. It helps you make better and other choices in the next relationship." Tony smiles and thanks Gem. "No worries. Go get him tiger." She laughs and Tony laughs with her. "

Vinny looks at her dad and asks: "What happens next?" Her dad picks her up and puts her on his lap and Will sits next to them on a chair. "Well... Tony told Kayne that he'd love nothing more than to be together and they had years of fun, love and warmth together." A woman enters the room and grabs the father's hand and says: "Sadly, things didn't turn out the way they wanted too. Kayne got sick and got really distant, which broke them apart. Kayne got better, but their relationship never turned to the way it was." The father wipes away a tear and continue: "But like Gem said. Tony had learned a lot of the relationship and learned that the only love he really needed was his own. He worked hard and reached his goal. Then he met a wonderful woman which he spend a lot of time with. He asked her to marry him and they got two beautiful children. The end." The kids jump up and clap in their hands. The woman places a hand on the man's shoulder and says: "Dinner is ready." The children run to the dining table and the man gets up and looks at the woman. She smiles and kisses him. "They love the story Tony and I am glad that you found what you were looking for." Tony smiles and nods. "I am happy too."
