CAIRO

One minute everything was fine and in a split second hell had come up to earth. Everything had happened so quick, one minute i was giving the signal to Chanel the next I was in the backseat trying to apply pressure to a bullet wound that wouldn't stop bleeding, and now, we just had to wait. I think some things won't ever leave a person's mind and I can gurantee the image of one of my closetest niggas barely even breathing was burned into my conscious. Blood was all over me. Shit blood was everywhere, it was even on Chanel who was literally frozen sitting next to me.

I felt a feeling I thought I'd never feel again and that was guilt. I dragged her down with me and she would probably never be the same after tonight. I looked over at her reaching over and grabbing her hand squeezing it, she squeezed back just to let me know she was alive cuz her skin was cold as death.

Two hours earlier....

CHANEL

I watched both of them drop to the floor and lay there. Cairo looked stuck looking down at Shano's body and I could tell everything felt unreal at that moment. Everything changed in a split second and his blank expression turned into full on rage, I'd shot Ramos but he wasn't dead, I hadn't even hit a vital area. Cairo dropped his gun and kicked Ramos as hard as he could in the face and I just stood there frozen staring at Shano. My brain told me to run and help but I couldn't even move, I couldn't even tell if he was breathing or not.

Cairo continuously kicked Ramos before he stomped on his head one good time, I heard the crack and snapped my head back over to the scene before me. God must've gave me the strength to move myself because I had finally been able to feel again.

"Fuck man! Fuck!" Cairo yelled snatching his gun from the ground and emptying it into Ramos' lifeless body.

I ran over stopping him and taking the gun "We gotta get him to the hospital c'mon before somebody notice we up here please" I begged pulling him over to Shano. He checked his pulse and I helped him carry Shano through the backdoor and to the car.

"You drive Imma try to keep him alive" Cairo said hopping in the backseat, he began applying pressure to the hole in Shano's chest whispering under his breath. I couldnt hear what he was saying but maybe he was praying who knows.

I was speeding as fast as I could which had happened to be 30 minutes away, just our luck tonight. Cairo seemed to be getting more and more pissed off and had begun rushing me to drive faster.

"Aye..bruh..don't rush her...I'm good" I heard Shano struggling to say, he sounded choked up and weak and it made me even more anxious at the fact that this was actually fucking happening to me.

I finally pulled up the hospital and we rushed him into the lobby, blood dripping everywhere, andpeople horrified at the sight. The minute it took for the doctors to get him and roll him to the back felt like forever.

Present

CHANEL

I felt like I'd been sitting here for hears. The calls over the intercom became dreadful because none if them was about Shano or his progress. Not even a nurse had come back to let us know what was going on. The white walls were taunting, its like they shined brighter than normal symbolizing heaven or something. I was thinking up anything to take my mind off the images I'd seen earlier, shit I wonder if Shano's life had flashed before his eyes? If he had regretted anything in the moment he had gotten shot.

I felt like this was all my fault, if I hadn't hesitated to shoot I could've gotten Ramos first and maybe if I'd just shot after he took the gun in the first place we would all be able to go back to the house and chill out. We could joke about whatever and laugh at each other. I hadn't even known Shano for that long and I felt like we had some type of connection through Cairo.

Just then a doctor came through the doors making eye contact with me. He checked his clipboard looking back at us before making his way over. We stood up hand in hand still not saying a word.

"Good news, we were able to retrieve the bullet from his bodybut the bad outweighs the good. He's in and out of consciousness and in critical condition, we were thinking it'd be a good idea to induce a coma and put him on life support" I looked at Cairo, he'd had the same blank expression on his face since we'd gotten here and he still hadn't even said a word.

"Uh can we see him before anything else happens please" I said clearing my throat. The doctor nodded leading us towards the room. Something was telling me I wouldn't wanna go in that room, that something bad was getting ready to happen, but another part of me needed to go and see him. Cairo gripped my hand tighter and tighter the closer we got until we came to a stop. The doctor led us inside the room to see Shano propped up with wires that seemed to never stop connecting places.

I felt tears rolls down my face as we rushed over to the side of the bed staring at him. His eyes were barely open I could tell he was in a lot of pain. Cairo let go of my hand pulling up a chair and he was like another person speaking. I pulled up another chair sitting next to him laying my head on his shoulder before he began to speak...
