My mum was able to drop me off to work this morning. I haven't talked to Billy since Friday and I was still carrying on my silent treatment. He's tried calling my phone a couple of times, and he even visited on Saturday, but I made sure my mum told him that I was out with Leigh. She told me to stop being petty and to just talk to Billy about it, but I wanted to make him suffer a little bit longer.
"Thank god you're back, I was so lonely on Friday" I say to Joyce who's busy sorting out the items behind the counter. She responds once she stands back up and stretches.
"Well I'm glad to be back, I missed having some girl company. My two boys have been driving me up the wall all weekend" She sighs out and I let out a laugh.
"I didn't think Jonathan would be the annoying type" I say and she raises her eyebrows at me.
"Believe me, he's a pain in the neck" Joyce says. I move to go open one of the brown boxes containing a packet of shavers, but then I remember the note Donald left on the register.
"Oh wait I need to go to the back to sort out the cupboards in the storage room, Donald said it was urgent" I say as I discard the box and make my way to the back.
"Do you want some help sweetie?" Joyce asks me.
"No it's fine. Someone should stay in the front for the customers" I yell out before I start to work on the task in the storage room. The boxes on the shelves clearly needed to be organized, and some of the labels were mismatched, so I sighed before I rolled up my sleeves and started to work.
I start off with the lowest level. The boxes are full of random products, so I start to separate them before I reseal the boxes. They were light so I had no problem carrying the boxes and managed to rearrange them with ease. By the third level I was so into sorting out the boxes I didn't hear the sound of someone knock on the door.
"Wow, you should organize your room next" Billy says with a grin on his face. I turn around with a box still in my hands and roll my eyes at how he's leaning on the door frame with a smug look on his face.
"I should throw this box at your face" I state, totally discarding his attempt at humour.
"Actually no- I should throw that one" I say as I nod my head over to the box full of heavy items. Billy scoffs as he walks toward me and starts to dig through some of the unorganized boxes.
"Why, what did I do?" He questions me and I snort.
"Oh I don't know maybe you should rejog your memory and think back to Friday" I say as I stand on my tippy toes and push the box onto the shelf. Billy's wearing a confused look on his face when I turn back around, and when he doesn't pin point what I'm talking about, I let out a groan.
"You stood me up on Friday. You knew how much I wanted to watch that movie Billy" I say, and I watch as he finally remembers what I'm talking about. He lets out a sigh as he runs his fingers through his hair.
"Shit" He curses and I hum as I turn back around to continue my job.
"I forgot Leah, I'm sorry I just lost track of time and the plan slipped my mind" Billy lies and I roll my eyes as I straighten up the items on the top shelf.
"The plan slipped your mind or Nina Holts slipped into your backseat?" I state, and I can already see the guilty look on his face without even facing him.
"Max the little shit" Billy mumbles.
"Yeah I called your house after an hour of waiting for you to show up and she told me the truth, unlike you Billy" I snap when I turn back around to look at him.
