All those past have tasted death
An inevitable foe reaching unfurled,
touching the known length and breadth
Spreading its silencing cold thru the world
It’s not if you meet, but when and how
But always too soon when it is now
A greeting never welcome
One I cant escape with my integrity
but must with honor to it succumb
And in life, in death, stand by my family
In the cruel hand of this enemy
I feel its mortal grasp invade me
May it be for the vict’ry
It seals for those my love know
A stronger force than any foeNaokatsu Matsuda of The Kept Valley from the book "Love is the Chain"
