chapter 13

Because of Shenwei condition, Zhao yunlan came home from the earlier each day.Lingjing covered for him.
Every moment when he was home and Shenwei was awake.he spent more time with him...more than usual.
On the third day of second weak after Shenwei returned home.
Early in the morning while it still dark..Yunlan was wakened by his wifey's voice.

"Hubby.." Shenwei called.

"Yes,wifey..what would you like?some water?fruit juice? Yunlan responded sleepily.

" hubby... I'm so warm...so wet.....and .....I'm so tired."Shenwei's voice seemed to be weak.

Yunlan become alert. With a startled move he reach behind and found the bedside lamp make it on.then he saw it.

Blood is seeping from his wife's mouth..tracing down his chin and onto his pajama.

"Wifey!..yunlan cried taking him in his arms and rocking him.

" Yezun!yezun!!"he called desperately. For he knew this was one way it could end..A massive hemorrhage.

Yezun came rushing into the bed.he freeze ,when he saw what was happening.

" don't worry.. Hubby... I'm alright...It doesn't hurt...its like you said...its doesn't hurt..I will miss you...hubby." Shenwei said wiping Yunlan's tears before closing his eyes... And his hands fell down.

Zhao yunlan realized what had threatened for so long had finally happened. He held him,rubbed his large strong hand across his soft thin  cheeks.

  The struggle was over,the pain .the agony of the treatment. The battle within his wasted body.It was all over..his wifey is finally at peace...

The funeral of his wifey was held on Saturday morning. On the ride back from the cemetery yezun is at the back of the car Zhao yunlan and lingjing seat on the front .when they arrived home.

Zhao yunlan was taking out his files, books and several frames and diplomas.

"Zhao yunlan what's the meaning of this" Lingjing ask.

" I don't think I can go back there.." Yunlan said.

" Yunlan! Listen to me!"Lingjing started.

" sorry Lingjing I made up my mind... I left out instruction about my surgeries. " yunlan said.

"Yunlan, I know how you feel..
You have to comeback..you owe it to the profession... To your patients... And in the end to your self..." Lingjing said.

" I owe? I owe no one anything!!!!...Shenwei yes! My wifey! I owed him..I owed him a lot more than coming home late,when he was already asleep... I owed him a lot more than kisses he never knew I gave him.....I owed him all my time, all my love, .....I have nothing left now.."Yunlan explode broken with tears in his eyes...

Their room is in darkness...the blinds is down and shut against the day light.

" All I wish is a chance...I want to see you again... To be with you..."yunlan said hugging Shenwei's pillow...he close his eyes....he heard his voice...

"Hubby...your sleeping too long" shenwei said,gently touching his cheeks.Yunlan open his eyes...and he saw a familiar place Shenwei's room in the hospital..

"Wifey! Your alive..." Yunlan said while embracing the startled Shenwei with tears in his eyes..

" of course I am.....nightmares hubby? " Shenwei asked.

While gently caressing his husbands back .He feels the slightly shaking of his husband body indicating that his crying...

Yunlan buried his face on his wifeys shoulder. Soon Shenwei felt the warm moist tears of his hubby.

The evening came... knowing Dr.Zhao could be found on Shenwei's room the nurse go straight there...

"Dr.Lingjing asked if you would stop by before you left..both of you" the nurse said looking at yezun.
When they arrived on Linjings office... His heart already ache..on the news that he expected.Lingjing motion them to sit...

"Yunlan, yezun..I got Dr Zhou report." Lingjing started to say.

Zhao yunlan close his eyes..he hate to hear it.

" I'm glad to tell you that Shenwei's immune system would already produced healthy marrow on its own.."Lingjing said.

" can you repeat it...your not joking right!" Yunlan stand up and hugged the old man

."his going to be fine...but we need further observation.."Lingjing smile.

"Thankyou! Thankyou doctor!" Yezun laughing with tears in his eyes.

After eight months and three weeks...Shenwei can finally go home.
But he have to visit the hospital for a periodically check up.

Zhao yunlan back hugging his wifey and smelling his scent.

"Thankyou....wifey... For not leaving me..for giving me a chance..and I promise.... I will make it up to you..for all the time...the huggs....the kisses..." Yunlan said while kissing Shenwei every where he giggle.

" you must hubby!"Shenwei said.
" hey! Lovers...there's a virgin over here! "Yezun whine.

And their laughter's filled the car.
