"Hoist the sails men! Today we head for open waters!!" I yelled with a smile, today is the day we discover the unknown. A wave a joy splashed onto me causing a adrenaline spike.
"Oi captain, where will we be going this time!?"Second in command, right hand man, and my best friend since birth, O'Neil. He too looked excited for our travels.
"Northward of the Crackto Islands!" I smirked and yelled "Maybe we can pick up a few ladies as well my friends!"
An outburst of laughs and smiles came from the crew. Never had I imagined being a 17 year old laddy commanding a whole Brig. A Brig with 34 people on it, the majority of us where the sons and daughters of the original crew. We were all around the same age, with different backgrounds.
With 24 cannons and the finest chassis in the land, nothing could stop us. It was more like a frigate and a brig mixed together if I'm being honest.
"You better not Jonah! Some people on this boat are already in a relationship!" Venti, my second and left hand woman...and O'Neils mate.
"Set sail northward! Raise the anchor! There is land to be discovered!!"I yell with a smile.
Ceslli and Celssi, the "daredevil twins" as we call them, raised the anchor. The sails fall down from there rest and with a whoosh, the cool breeze fills the sails and takes us away.
"Where am I to go me Johnnies, oh where am I to go?"
"To-me! Way hey hey, high roll and go!"
"Ho where am I to go me Johnnies, oh where am I to go?"
"For I'm a young sailor boy and where am I to go?"
Our crew went on for hours with shanties for the men and women.
<><><><>"Land Ho! Crackto Islands inbound!" Edward, our spotter yelled, the wind had settled for the time being.
"O'Niel, Venti, Map room. Edward, take wheel!" I saw Edward come from the bow of the ship to the wheel.
"It would be my pleasure Captain." Letting out a small chuckle and grin.
"Damage this boat and ill kill you."
"That's if you can catch and find me."
We both laughed and I walked to the map room. Edwards father was a hunter and a trapper and sooner or later he taught Edward himself.
I saw O'Niel and Venti arguing and marking the map. I have to admit, they looked good while arguing.
"What did I miss?" They both looked up as if they were startled.
"Long story short, we are discussing where the Peaktua island would be compared to the Crackto islands." O'Niel explained.
"Venti keeps saying that the Peaktua Island would be eastward of the Crackto islands when they would be Northeast."
"What would be the point of knowing the Peaktua island compared to the Crackto Islands?" I looked at both of them, there faces looked concerned.
"Well since you haven't heard, the White Iron Empire took the Peaktua island and there fleet is traveling northward."
"To sum up what Venti said, we might run into there fleet."
A chill went down my spine, if we ran into there fleet they would kill us. Only reason they wouldn't is if we ran into the Captain of the 3rd Indo fleet.
My mother knew him and they were friends for a long time. Our chances of seeing him were...very...very low. They only deployed Indo fleets directly into combat as front liners and scouts.
"I have an Idea, we travel northwest and curve inward until we hit land. Lowering our risk of running into there fleet." I look at them both and they have nothing to say. Venti clears her throat and says,
"Even though yes that could work, that also has risk of its own."
"Such as?"
"We run into not so friendly territory, or we curve right into the White Iron fleet."
"Not to mention the Blackward fleet and the Redloir fleet. They have turned the whole west of the Crackto islands into a war ground." O'Niel added on, O'Neil and Venti had a thing for tag teaming people.
At this point I was irritated, "So then what do you both suggest?" I looked at them both, there faces were blank as they tried to find a solution to our problem.
"CAPTAIN, TROUBLE OUTSIDE!" Edward was struggling to catch his breath and looked scared out of his mind. This must be bad.
I looked at Venti and O'niel, Venti grabbed her cutlasses and O'niel his sniper and pistols. Whatever it was, it wasn't going to make it out alive. I slung my rifle over my shoulder and grabbed my sword and went outside.
I outside was a towering frigate with as many men as a small army on it.
"You there! Are you the captain of this ship!?"A man yelled, he looked only a bit older than us, but his ship and uniform was of a unknown legion. A gray jacket with a blue undershirt.
"Depends on who is asking!" I ready my pistol, my crew ready to open fire if necessary.
"Well then, my name is Roland Hanesson!"
Hanesson!?
"Did I hear you right, did you just say Hanesson!?"
"Indeed you did, little cousin."
