Chapter 1: Familiar Faces

It had been two months since "The Snap." The seven survivors, Captain Falcon, Ken Masters, Fox McCloud, Lucina, Simon Belmont, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Luigi sat down in Falcon's Golden Falcon ship, known as the Falcon Flyer, flying through a random world, looking at the carnage that Waluigi had caused.
"Unreal. I can't believe he'd just pull something like this," Ken said in shock.
"Waluigi is doing this out of hatred, plain and simple," Shadow replied.
"Well, we have to find him and stop him," Fox added.
"It'll take a lot more than that. We have to figure out how to help everyone else out," Lucina said.
"If there's any way we can," Simon spoke up. While the rest everyone chatted about the situation, Luigi kept quiet. He was trying to process this whole thing. Mario, his own brother, was gone. Most of his allies were gone. They'd mindlessly flew through many different worlds, only to see the carnage of Waluigi's reign of terror.
"This is all my fault," Zelda spoke up suddenly. Everyone turned to her. During the two months, she had fully recovered, much to Luigi's relief.
"I wanted to stop Waluigi myself, and it led to him getting the Time Stone."
"Zelda...," Luigi has started, but stopped. To an extent, Zelda was right. She was careless and put herself and everyone else in danger. Though Luigi looked at how he had watched Zelda the entire time. Had he not left her alone in the sickbay, she might've never went undercover as Sheik. Also, Luigi thought of his hesitation to finish Waluigi, causing the snap. In all honesty, he blamed himself.
Suddenly, there was a loud BOOM, and it shook the ship. Everyone fell out of their seats. Luigi scrambled to his feet and straightened his cap. He dashed up to Falcon, who was sitting in the pilot's seat.
"Falcon! Where's that coming from?" Luigi demanded as he tried to see if it was coming toward them. Falcon looked at the radar.
"It looks like we're being attacked from below!" Falcon replied. The radar showed dots on the ship. Since it was in a top down view, it was coming from someone or something underneath of the ship. The ship then shook again, along with another BOOM.
"Too much of whatever that is, and this thing is going down!" Falcon shouted.
"Prepare the emergency eject! We got to get everyone out of here!" Luigi ordered. He ran back into the cabin, where everyone was getting to their feet. "Guys, we're about to eject! Be careful!" The group nodded. After a few seconds, the lid of the Golden Falcon opened, and everyone(except for Falcon) went flying out. Luigi hadn't really thought of safety for himself, so he ended up face planting.
"Some things never change...," Luigi muttered, pulling himself to his feet. He started to run to see if the others were okay. That's when he had to dodge a fireball. Luigi looked in the direction the fireball came from. What he saw shocked him.
"M-Mario?" Luigi gasped. Mario looked different. He wore a dark brown cap and overalls. He wore a white shirt. His face was grey and he had red eyes.
"Yes, Luigi, it is me," Mario said, his voice in an evil tone.
"What happened to you? I thought you were dead!" Luigi sputtered.
"Waluigi revived me. Offered me amnesty, which I gratefully excepted. Something I foolishly declined when I was with you," Mario replied.
"What!? You realize Waluigi was the one who killed you? Why on Earth would you want to join him?"
"It better serves my purpose."
"Your purpose? You're supposed to be my brother! You're supposed to help me end in Waluigi's reign!"
"We share blood. We are not brothers. You are merely a pathetic coward. The exact opposite of me," Mario answered coldly. Luigi's eyes widened. He felt his heart break. His shock turned to anger.
"I don't know who you are, but I know this. You're not Mario!" Luigi said boldly, getting into a fighting stance. Mario smirked, then got into his own stance. The two battles around for a little bit. Luigi would defeat Mario by using his vacuum, the Poltergust G-00, and slamming Mario into the ground. Luigi looked at his brother, who was knocked out.
"You're right. We're not brothers," Luigi responded. He turned to check on the others, only to be stopped by a blue blur. It didn't take Luigi very long to know who it was.
"Sonic...," Luigi said to himself. He knew that he couldn't stop Sonic normally. He quickly pulled out the Poltergust again, and activated the strobe light. He let it rip as soon as the blur ran in front of him. Sure enough, Sonic stopped and covered his eyes. He was now all black. Luigi jumped up and drop kicked Sonic to the ground. Sonic quickly got to his feet.
"Sonic... nice to see you," Luigi said casually.
"I can't say the same. Lucky for me, I'll be the one to give Waluigi your head," Sonic replied coldly as the two circled each other.
"Pretty funny after everything, you want to side with Waluigi," Luigi said in almost a light tone.
"Siding with you turned me into a machine. Waluigi has restored my body, for the price of serving him," Sonic answered.
"Gotta say, I've never been in that position. And I never will be," Luigi responded. Sonic dashed towards Luigi. Luigi got ready for Sonic to strike.
"Chaos Control!" Shadow suddenly jumped in front of Sonic, delivering a quick kick, knocking Sonic to the ground.
"Nice one."
"I guess," Shadow answered, standing over Sonic's body.
"At least he's not cyberized like the last time we saw him," Luigi said, trying to comfort his friend. Shadow simply shook his head.
"Somehow, this is worse than the cyberization. At least as Metal Sonic, he was in control."
"We'll help him, Shadow. And Mario too."
"You saw Mario? Is he also like him?"
"Yeah. Whatever Waluigi's done, they're not in their right minds."
"I'll take care of this. Go see if everyone else is okay."
"Okay," Luigi replied. He didn't have to wait long. Just after leaving Shadow, he saw Ike, who looked similar to Mario physically, taking his sword to try and bring down on Lucina. He didn't wait to take action.
"You can join me now, Lucina," Ike sneered. Lucina braced for the sword to come down on her. Just then, Luigi grabbed the blade, just as Ike was preparing the finishing blow.
"Snap out of it, Ike! You know you don't want to do this!" Luigi said, trying to possibly pull the blade out of Ike's hands. Ike turned and kicked Luigi to the ground.
"Why would I not want to do this? She's the reason I'm the way I am! I looked at her pitiful face for one second, and it ended my life!" Ike seethed, preparing to attack Luigi instead. Just then, Lucina came flying up, slicing Ike, causing him to fall. Lucina looked down at Ike, then fell to her knees. Luigi looked to see her cheeks wet with tears.
"Lucina... I know how you're feeling... but that's not the Ike you know," Luigi said, hoping it would make the girl feel better.
"Thank you... that helps...," Lucina answered weakly. Meanwhile, Falcon, Fox, Ken, Simon, and Zelda all came around. They had all landed safely. Shadow returned, having the unconscious bodies of Mario and Sonic.
"What do we have here?" Fox asked. Luigi explained what had happened.
"Strange... so they've been turned into zombies?" Ken asked, backing away slightly.
"If that's the what you want to call them, yes," a voice suddenly spoke.
"Who's there?" Luigi said, motioning for the group to get ready for combat.
"There's no need for concern, I'm here to help you," the voice said. There was suddenly a flash of light. Everyone quickly covered their eyes, remembering the past experience(except for Lucina, Simon and Ken).
"Here we go again!!!" Luigi thought as he shielded his eyes.
