After about half an hour, Mario and Cloud returned. Cloud had changed his appearance. Other than this change in hairstyle, he wore a robe-like outfit, which was all black, but was missing a sleeve. And his new sword, which he said was called the Fusion Sword, matches the Buster Sword's length and width. Once everyone had settled, they all met in the throne room, setting a table in the center of the room. Luigi stood at the head of the table.
"I'll be brief. We all know the situation at hand. And we know our initial plan failed. Which means have a new objective: defeat Waluigi and remove the Power Glove," Luigi explained.
"Well, even if we get out numbers back, there's no way we can stand up to that," Sonic pointed out.
"I may have a solution," Shadow piped up.
"Which is..."
"We need to do more recruiting."
"But last time, we got barely anywhere with that," Mario said.
"That's what will be different. Instead of going alone, we're all going together. If not, we'll send a medium sized group," Luigi explained.
"Well, that beats sitting around doing nothing like last time," Falcon said.
"Well, when do we head out?" Fox asked.
"We need time to rest first. After traveling nonstop, plus reviving revenants, we all aren't exactly at 100%," Luigi said.
"Sounds like a plan."
"Okay. You're all dismissed," Luigi said. Everyone went off on their own. Zelda went up to Luigi.
"Well, you certainly haven't changed since the last time we actually got to talk," she said with a smile. Luigi couldn't help but slightly blush. He usually said he and Zelda were just friends, but most people would say otherwise, and he honestly couldn't blame them. "The castle seems a bit more lively, now we're back in it.
"No kidding."
"I almost forgot how this place looked. Being in a bed unconscious will do that."
"What, Sheik didn't ask for a tour?"
"Ha. Very funny Luigi."
"Anyway, I have a question."
"Okay. Ask away."
"What ever happened to Link? When you were Sheik, you said he's probably dead. But I don't think you mean that, do you?"
"Well..."
"If you don't want to tell me..."
"No, it's fine... you deserve to know anyway," Zelda said. She took a deep breath.
"A little while back, Link had somehow discovered the Time Stone. He'd assumed is was some kind of rupee. He gave me the stone, and I learned of the Power Glove. I was hoping that the Power Glove would soon disappear, and I wouldn't have to worry about it. Unfortunately, Waluigi attacked Hyrule. Someone alerted us, and Link went to defend the people. Five to ten minutes minutes later, Waluigi breached the castle. I tried to defend myself, but... you know the rest...," Zelda finished.
"Yeah...," Luigi said. He knew that Waluigi had nearly killed her, and then he, Mario, Sonic, and Shadow arrived at the castle.
"I never saw Link again after that. I finally gained consciousness, I was in the sick bay here. And I had lost the Time Stone. So I went undercover as Sheik. I was glad to see you were here. But everything I said... I don't know why I...," Zelda starting choking up. She eventually began to sob, wrapping her arms around Luigi. Luigi hugged Zelda.
"I'm sorry," he said.
"No... it's me who's sorry," Zelda whispered. Her sobs had gone down. After a minute, she let go of Luigi. Luigi had gotten some tissues from his pockets, and gave her some.
"Thanks... I needed to get that off of my chest...," Zelda sniffed, wiping her eyes. She sat there quietly.
"Are you okay?" Luigi asked. He felt a bit of guilt.
"Yes... that actually felt... nice. I feel like I haven't cried in forever," Zelda said. She smiled.
"Well, I'm going to rest. Are you?"
"Yes... thank you again, Luigi. I really needed that," Zelda said. Luigi nodded and headed his way. In a while, they'd be back on the road. Though he wouldn't be alone.
