I slowed to a walk. I don't remember how long I ran but ran as fast as I could. I never expected him to do that. I never expected me to react like that. It was instant. Like I had to stop them. I thought werewolves were possessive about mates. When did I become possessive? Wait, did I see him as my mate?
She must be his mate. If he already had a mate, why did he flirt with me? Why would he kiss me?

No one would choose a filthy demon over a girl who is like a supermodel and cooks your favorite food.

I had been walking for some time now and the sun was descending. I was long past the pack territory and was now walking through the city streets. The Sun had descended and it was getting darker and darker. Lynn must have completed the ward. The streets were crowded as always, filled with buzzing people who didn't have a care in the world. What would they do if they knew a demon was among them? Walking in casual clothes.
It would be fun to watch. A welcome change to this sadness. Nah... Lynn would go hysterical if I did something like that.

I stopped dead when I saw a familiar face. Ashley was standing in front of a building, clearly waiting for someone. She was wearing a small glittery dress that looked beautiful on her. A guy was approaching her from behind, it was hard to explain but I was getting a vibe from him. I couldn't pinpoint what it was but I clearly didn't like him. Her face lit up when she spotted him. She ran and jumped into his arms. He laughed and they broke apart after a good minute.  Intertwining their hands they went inside the building.

I followed them in. The guards had a list of names and only these people and their guests could enter the party. So I cheated, I cloaked myself and walked right past the guards without them even noticing. I'm kind of getting good at cloaking stuff

Inside some kind of party was going on. People were dancing, drinking, and flirting. There were 3 beautiful girls on the stage dancing to the music. They looked angelic somehow. Food was placed on the tables. Numerous people were filling their plates up. I filled a plate and smiled.
If I didn't eat now, Lynn would have to go hysterical over the energy-drained people I would make.
I took my plate to the corner table where I could watch Ashley and everyone else here.
The party was crowded and busy. Ashley was flirting with the guy in the corner. She was wearing a small glittery top that showed everything and the guy was eyeing everything.

The bartender who was eyeing me and the food on my plate left the counter to talk to a man in suit standing near the stage. The man turned and looked straight at me.
Oh goody here comes trouble. Might as well finish eating.
I started shoving food into my mouth when the man in a suit started walking straight to me.
He settled down in front of me and stared. He had hazel eyes and black hair which was combed in a business-like way. He was handsome in a dark prince-like way completely opposite of Nate.
Argh... why do I keep thinking about him?

"Want some?"
I asked tired of his staring.

"You will eat all of it?"
He asked eyeing my food with disgust.

"You trying to flirt with me?"

"Nope, no dear. I was actually wondering why a misfit like you is in my pub."

"Misfit? That's cruel."

"That didn't answer my question." He stated

"I'm... I... I'm her guest"
I said pointing to Ashley who was now busy kissing the guy.

"You're Travis's guest?"
The guy I now think is Travis broke the kiss and looked at the suit guy like he heard his name being said. That was abnormal. No human could hear from that distance. But supernaturals can. I checked his energy signature. It was different somehow. I couldn't place the difference but it was definitely different from Ashley. Nearly half of the occupants in the party including the suit guy and the bartender had energy signatures like Travis's.
Seeming to gain consciousness Ashley spotted me and grinned. Travis guided her to us with his perfectly gloved hands. That's when something occurred to me, I didn't register any body temperature from the suit guy, the bartender, or the Travis guy who was getting near us with Ashley whose body temperature I registered.
Ha! What more can happen to me in a day? I run from a pack of wolves and walk straight into the vampire's den. Nicely done Robin. Nicely done.

"Do you know her, Travis?"
The suit guy asked. Before Travis could open his mouth Ashley Sat next to me.
"You look so pretty. Your eyes changed color"
Her voice slurred and reeked of alcohol.

"Contact lens. Could you give me a ride, Ash"

She giggled at that
"Travis calls me Ash too and No. No one's going anywhere. I wanna dance and oh I forgot, Travis this is Robin. Robin this is Travis"
I shook Travis's perfectly gloved hands. The hand was freaking cold, how did Ashley ignore that. Travis smiled at me.

"She is completely wasted. I'll take her home"
I said making Ashley stand with me.

"Oh no, wait."
The suit guy said catching my hand. Travis was at Ashley's side in an instant. That's when the 2 guards at the door flew and slammed on the wall. More guards started running towards the door. They were mostly vampires but running at human speed. Mostly a show for the humans who are now watching.
I sensed him before I saw him. Nate came through the door followed by Claire. He was burning with anger. He scanned the place and looked straight at me. His eyes were completely yellow. I sensed vampires rapidly approaching him from behind.
