"We found something! Over here!" I opened my eyes and felt like my lungs were on fire, tears started to pour out of my eyes. The window was dirty and I could see debris on top of me, it barely made a crack on the glass that protected me. I could barely breathe, each breath was a very violent act on my lungs almost as if I was trying to breathe in water on purpose. I blinked a few times and saw shadows of people and I could barely hear dogs barking. I closed my eyes and fell out of conscious again.

I woke up due to freezing. I opened my eyes and looked around, I must've been in a hospital. I tried to wipe my face since there was cold sweat on it, and noticed my hands were strapped down to the bed. I sat there trying to get my hands and feet undone from the straps, I looked crazy but I want to get out of these restraints.

"Miss Santeria, please calm down." I whipped my head towards the door. I saw a woman standing there, but she wasn't in the usual nurses outfit. She was wearing baggy clothing that had flowers on it.

"Where's Max!" I started to try to get the restrains looser, I could feel that they were wearing down and I knew I could get out of the bed if I continue to rub against them. My skin was starting to turn red from the leather. I finally broke my ankle restraints and that's when the woman started to back up from me. She was in the doorway when I got my wrists free, she ran down the hallway screaming for someone to help. I started to run down the opposite way. As I was running, I tried to find Maxs' name on the doors. Everyone was moving out of my way, but they kept staring at me like there was something wrong with me. I finally found her name and opened the door, there she was trying to escape from her restraints. I ran towards her and hugged her.

"I'm so relieved I found you. I don't know where I am and this place," My eyes caught the window, "and this place is new." Max got up and looked out the window.

"Where are we?" I looked towards her and pulled her in for another hug.

"Max, I have no clue, but as long as I have you I can get through this." I didn't dare look her in the eyes and I couldn't see her face, but I knew that she was crying.

"Ladies!," we pull away and turned towards the door ready to attack, "It's just me! Frank Kegley?" We lowered our hands and went up to hug him. We stayed there for awhile before Max speaks up.

"What happened in the lab?" We pull away and look at him waiting for an explanation. Frank started to scratch his neck, he still looked like the day the 'earthquake' happened. We waited in the room, I was still anxious because of the staff.

"It wasn't an earthquake. It was an attack. Right now, and listen to me, it is two-thousand and nineteen." I don't know why, but I started to cry. I missed my chance to find Patrick, he was gone. I walked out of the room, still hearing my name being called. I ran down the stairs and walked past the receptionist.

"Ma'am you need to sign out." I heard her say, I kept walking hearing footprints behind me.

"Leave her alone. She's with me." That was Kegleys' voice. I was wishing I heard Patrick, I really needed him today and right now. I wiped my eyes and felt Frank pull me back and he twisted so I was facing him.

"If you go outside this hospital, you're going to die." I was struggling in his grip, my eyes still tearing up and my body tense. I finally gave up, he could tell I was, and I was finally let go of. I turned around and saw the outside, the sky was black and the sun was closer than normal. People walked on the sidewalks with tubes and wires on them, animals looked the same way, I turned back around to look at Frank. He looked genuinely sorry, he never looked that way before. Max ran towards us screaming.
