"Aight, then," said Tom with a toothless grin on his face. "Here's yer key, I ought to show ye yer room."
They'd driven the whole night and she was ready to doze off. It was officially morning now and her last day before school started, and she felt completely knackered. She nodded and followed the innkeeper up a handsome wooden staircase to an oak door with the number fourteen on it. Cedric tailed behind her carrying some of her luggage with him. Tom fiddled with the key before opening the door for her to reveal a spacious room with a cosy big bed plopped in the middle, some highly polished oak furniture, a cheerfully crackling fire. Rhea flew into the room taking in the new territory before settling down onto the big pillow on the bed.
Cedric set down her luggage at the foot of her bed before putting his arm around her shoulder. "I'll be heading off then, see you tomorrow at the station, Mads," The tall Hufflepuff said planting a kiss on her forehead. "Stay safe. Love you, always." And with that he let go and backed out to the door. "You too, bozzo," she replied with a smile throwing a small wave as she watched him retreat out.
She fished in her pocket and pulled out crumpled piece of paper. She unfolded the letter and it took her quite some effort to decipher the letters and read over it once more. "From Tracey Davis"
"Mads!
How have you been? I've missed you so much. I've been spending my holiday in Berlin, it's really lovely. Hope you enjoyed your travels to Amsterdam. How's your brother, cause the boy sure looked fit in the pictures you sent. Is he still with that Ravenclaw? Pity. I'll be back in London in a few days and the gals and I've planned on kicking off the year at the Leaky Cauldron. Daphne, Pansy and Millicent all agreed. Third year's a charm, right? See what I did there? Room number nine is the one I'll be staying at the day before we leave to Hogwarts. Hope to see you there, darling.
Love, Trace"
Room number nine, she repeated in her head. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a roaring fire and the crackling of wood, causing her to spin around wide eyed. "Rhea, down girl!" Madison hissed at her dragon who was playing in the fireplace emitting breaths of fire herself.
She rushed to the fire place, but the dragon jumped off out of her reach. She fluttered her wings, playfully emitting puffs of fire as she flew out the door. Madison panicked and hurriedly chased the black scaled dragon. Before she barely set foot outside of her room she'd managed to tumble down to the ground taking a pole down on top of her. She bumped her head pretty hard onto the wooden floor and she knew it'd make for a nasty bump. Blinking she realised the pole was shaped like a person, a rather feminine person. Bright brown eyes stared into hers and she'd recognise those eyes out of a million anytime. After Madison stupidly gawking at her for a good second, Hermione broke the tension filled silence, "Watch your step, Diggory. You can't go barging around like you own the place." Hermione snipped which would've sounded intimidating had her flustered face not ruined the facade she was putting up.
