extra info: he's dating yumi and likes to baby her. he used to play tennis when he was a child, and was pretty good at it. he joined the school tennis team when he was 17 and became a main player. however, after sustaining a terrible injury at a competition, he wasn't in a state to continue playing tennis for at least the next 2 years. horrified and discouraged, he lost all motivation to continue playing, quitting and turning to music instead. yumi was a junior from school he met while pursuing music. she supported him emotionally through his disappointment and became a pillar of support in his life. eventually, they decided to both apply for JYPE and after getting accepted into JYPE, kang hyun finally asked yumi out.
