"Please don't give up on me"

Three months.
It had been three months since you last spoke to Arthur, since you touched him, since he was there.
Arthur had been missing for months, and it was all because of Dutch and Micah.
Of course they would be the two that thought it was a good idea to send Arthur out on a solo mission right after he had recovered from a gun wound.
Leaving you to worry each day that passed.
You couldn't even look at them right now, you ignored their apologies and excuse, distracting yourself with daily chores, rides, hunts, and anything that took your mind off of Arty.. Though that was hard, everything you did reminded you of him.
You walked over to the nightstand before laying down for the night. Grabbing the portrait of Arthur, you held it to your chest.
"Damn it Arty... please come back" you whisper pleaded.

The sun rose, striking the water first, then the sand, then the grass, until it reached your face. Squinting awake, you groaned.

You rubbed your eyes and sat up, but there was something else.
On your nightstand, lay a note, it looked tattered, the paper being at least a few days old. It was quickly folded, as the folds were uneven. Finding this odd you quickly opened it and your heart stopped.
The note read:
Y/n...
It's Arthur, I'm sure you could tell by the writing, I don't have enough time to properly write, and I don't even know how I managed to get this to you, if it makes it that is, I'm hurt, but alive. Please don't give up on me just yet, and for the love of god, please don't come looking, I'm trying to get back to you.
I love you with all that I have

Your heart skipped, you felt the tears sliding down your face, and all you could do was sit there. You held the letter to your chest and cried. You had to go search for him. That was final.
